The idea wasnt to have a DB jam the QB, it was to stick someone like a MLB or DT out there to basically take a cheap shot on an unprotected QB. Which is stupid because if they want to take a cheap shot they can do it at any time.

Well, does anyone really believe that he's an asset out on the field? Nevermind the fact that Chad is fragile to begin with, does anyone really see him as a legit receiving option? Defenders will keep a eye on him and cheat towards the middle of the field, his presence as a "distraction" is nothing more than a wasted player on the field IMO. If Penny does catch the ball, you bet your backside that defenders will hit him and hit him hard. Taking a hit as a QB behind the line is alot different then getting hit in the open field.

Back to Penny, you don't put a player who is injury prone in a situation that he isn't really capable of playing. I'm not all that thrilled with seeing him getting physical at the line with a DB who makes a living jamming younger, stronger, bigger players than Penny. It's asking for trouble IMO.

I know what you are trying to say...

I just think that with him still on the field it does allow some options.

If Miami ran the play after a timeout. They could wait until the defense would not have enough time to match the formation without him. Then send in a Blocking TE or WR. The defense would KNOW the WILDCAT is coming but might not have the right formation on the field.

    Otherwise...

Just let Chad fall to the ground or step out of bounds. There is no reason why he should even take a SINGLE hit. He knows the snap count and should be able to line up a few inches from the sideline. Simply step out...

BUT you know it would be funny as hell, if he did that for about 4 or 5 plays. Then the defensive player just figures he will do it yet again, and cheats back to the inside. He fakes the step out and jets for the endzone corner. TD...lol. Hope they save that for the JETS.

All in all...they can run it with or without him.
