The San Francisco 49ers were the first team to make moves in the opening minutes of the trading period of the off-season. The 49ers sent linebacker Scott McKillop to the Washington Redskins for linebacker Lorenzo Alexander. McKillop was a fifth rounder of the 2009 niners draft class but struggled at times with injuries and overall play so he was moved for the multi-talented Lorenzo Alexander. We caught up with GM Alen1 of the 49ers, which will be rare as he doesn't like to do many interviews. Adam Schefter - "Hello Alen, how are you?" Alen1 - "Good." Schefter - "Why did you decide to move promising young linebacker Scott McKillop?" Alen1 - "We're just doing whats in the best interest of our team. We felt that we were given a great opportunity to add Lorenzo Alexander and we took advantage of that. We liked him last off-season and were on the verge of acquiring him in free agency before a team decided to follow our bid and bid a higher price tag than we felt he was worthy of but we are happy to have him now." Schefter - "How does Alexander fit your 3-4 defense?" Alen1 - "We're excited for what Alexander brings and his versatility. He will fit our forty front well." Schefter - "One last question GM Alen; why did you decide to move running back Frank Gore?" Alen1 - "It was not a popular move but it was in the best interest of our team."
