I was trying to go back making sure it wasn't already posted, but it is a good article by Tim, really did his homework with all the past interviews
What an interesting story. I kept thinking to myself, what's this guys story, how can someone with that athleticism go undrafted and get cut, whats his deal..The story touched on it but i still cant sum it up to a specific. What does the story tell everyone as to why this kid has faltered. I guess because he did'nt really love the game, did'nt really play it either, former basketball player...i like that {maybe he can line up on offense near the goal line. Great story and now has me excited...our coaches should have fun teaching this specimen the art of linebacker.
He's at least got a good party trick for his new locker room. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2zk_hiMoVk"]YouTube - Cameron Wake vertical leap(11'8")[/ame]
Now that the team probably knows about it, they should ahve someone hide up in the ceiling beside the money, when he's at the peak of his jump "pop" out of the other ceiling tile. Pull a prank on him and then of course welcome him to the team
great read. thanks! Im excited to see what he's going to do for us this year. It would be amazing if he could come in here and dominate like he has in the CFL.. I know, i know... two different games... but damn it would be great.
Tim Graham (the author) was on another web site and stated this about the article ***************************************************** Thanks for posting my story on here and talking about it. For the record, Wake's vertical leap is the official measurement from his combine. It was reported to be even higher at his pro day. I've been told he has maintained it as he has gotten bigger. Dtronic is correct about where the Dolphins got their figure for the press release. And that was from the year he joined the BC Lions, too. Teams a lot of times will keep using the same data over and over. When Wake took his physical for them he weighed 259 1/2, according to his agent. ************************************************** So he does weigh 260 for sure. I can't imagine his leap being higher though
