It doesn't matter how far the safeties are btw. Defenses are calling different coverages against us snd not daring ud to throw as much.

We faced an 8 man box far more last season, and if anyone can pr ove that wrong I will accept it

Anyone who has actually been watching the games know that the safeties have been creeping up in the Bess/Hartline years and that they've backed up since the arrival of Wallace. Simple stuff, that's what happens when you get a legitimate deep threat on the field.

Man, we should have just stayed with Hartline and Bess and their whopping two combined TDs. Defenses would play us the same and we would be doing just as good now and have the same production based solely on Tanne's progression. Got it.

If that was the case, I'd expect to see an improvement in the running game this year, which we haven't really seen. Maybe that's due to the OL issues. Not sure. Looking at the coaches tape I am not seeing a big difference in the number of defenders in the box when we are in a conventional 2 WR set with backs in the backfield. We are passing more this year and using more multi-WR sets and spread sets so you don't see as much 8-in-the-box in those situations, but that has nothing to do with Wallace.

What kind of proof would you accept? Photos of defenses this year and last in conventional 2 WR/2 back sets?

Safeties are playing at about the same depths as last year. I'm sitting here looking at the coaches film showing that.

    That response was gold!

Yep....no difference..I don't know about you..but he's convinced me. We need to get Davone Bess back and trade Wallace for whatever anybody can give us. VALUE!

Has anyone posted video to back up their Joe Haden argument? I've seen Haden play enough to know the guy is a Top 5 cornerback and doesn't need help. Let's not pretend Wallace is some super skillful receiver, he's got one skill and that is speed.

Besides why is this even a discussion... Aqib Talib isn't even on Haden's level.. Yeah he did a great job against Jimmy Graham but I've seen him get burned multiple times.

I am on the verge of being a "Ryan Tannehill is the Franchise QB" guy. He has really impressed me in a few things he has improved on the 2nd half of the season so far. The pressure is on now though. If he regresses or fumbles away our playoff chances, I am going to reserve my judgment until next year. He has a chance to take that next step NOW. Lets see if he can do it.

    Haden is an outstanding CB.

But Wallace got behind him twice in that game, only to have the ball vastly underthrown.

There are some screen shots of that floating around one of these, " I hate Mike Wallace" threads.

    What a wives' tale!! :sidelol:

Kendall Wright gets extra attention which opens opportunities for others [see Justin Hunter's 114 yards and a TD last week]. If Wright does, then OBVIOUSLY an even more dangerous receiver does.

Yep, one trick pony. Can't make tough catches, can't slow down for a slant pass behind him then shake off defenders for touchdowns.

May aswell have drafted Terrance Williams.
