Wow, that was impressive. We're in business. What a gun onTannehill. Hartline. Bush. Miller.

Good scheming and playcalling. Bandwagon time...

Impressive win. I don't think Oakland is a very good barometer to judge your team by, but the Phins looked good.

Boy... is Carson Palmer done, or what? Sure glad now he didn't wind up in Miami. Sheesh...

Hartline went for over 100 yds, and he was making these catches with ease. Tannehill was very good all around. Man, he was impressive.

Daniel Thomas just lost his job, lol. Miller is such a nifty runner...wow

Out of all the things that were impressive, this one sticks out the most to me: They changed things up during half time and capitolized on those changes. If Reggie didn't get a game ball, the only other person worthy of the game ball is coach Philbin!

With Oakland travelling across country on a short week for a 10am pst kickoff in Miami in September, we had a lot going for us today. We caught a big break with that piece of scheduling and it was great to see us take advantage of it in the second half.

It's still likely to be a sub .500 season due to lack of overall talent, but getting a win like this early should really help our young QB and help build some belief in the coaching staff. So hopefully this helps in the long run.

My gal was calling Ryan Dannyhill all day.
    Thought that was pretty funny.
I kept on telling her I think we have a QB.

Don't forget the passrush. No sacks, but constant pressure.

I think we have one too. I mean, Tanne to Hartline was just a display.

They were riding that wave in the second half. Vernon on that one kickoff was a highlight as well. Nobody hurt. Couldn't have gone better IMO...

Special teams was lights out today IMO.
I thought we would get a blocked punt with all the talk or at least one snapped over #9's head.
Didn't happen but good in field position. Something to definitely build on.

IDK, I thought Oakland has a decent D this year, especially with Allen coming over from Denver (see what he did there last year).

i saw reasons to be happy about the pass rush the whole game. I just think it was more effective in the 2nd half because their offense lost a step.

The Tannehill to Hartline connection looked forreal, but did anyone else see how crappy Burnett played today? Jeez I almost broke my remote.

    I'm cautiously optimistic.
We beat a bad team, traveling across country, playing an early game, on a short week.
But, we looked good doing it.
The next two weeks will be a much better litmus test for our beloved Dolphins.

What bothered me was Burnett helping Palmer up.

Under no circumstances should any REAL defensive player be helping the opposing QB get up.

Deacon Jones would ear-rape Burnett for that.

I'm not taking too much about the rest of the season from this game: we ALWAYS beat the Raiders in Miami, and they were on a short week.
But at least we got a win for our home fans, Tanny got his first win and his first TD pass, which is a monkey off his back, and Lamar Miller proved he was worth drafting.
Now if only Egnew could prove that about himself...

There are still a lot of weaknesses Miami has that got somewhat masked because of the Raiders being our opponent today. I fear those issues will creep back up to haunt Miami next week, namely the lack of pass-rush and secondary play.

You kidding. We have a rookie QB who did a great job no TO's. D played lights out in the second half.
I'm freaking loving it and ready to develop and build from this win. Sit in your own bummed out little world if need be.
The coaching was much better in the second half and we kicked their ***.
I'm celebrating the hell out of this one.
Building blocks and development instead of being negative. I'm sick of that mentality.
This team is better than people think.

Didn't you know if you don't sack the QB 6 times it isn't a strong pass rush?

The pass rush was great, the issue was that as we got near Palmer the Oakland lineman would hold and use hands to the face. Refs didn't call anything.

Yup. Refs could've been much harsher to the Raiders. I kinda liked the way they referree'd this game. Other than a couple hiccups in the first half, they really let them play to say the least.
