Overlooked in the visits to UNC and Florida, we also worked out Maryland's Haywood Bey and Dan Gronkowski and Dane Randolph and..Edwin Williams.

Williams is a two year starter who took over shortly into his Sophomore season in 2005 and played ten games, he was also runner up for All ACC honors in 2007.

Williams is not in the Mack/Unger/Wood derby either, and as such, he will be available much later in the draft then any of those three and currently carries a 6th round grade.

To me, he is the sort of dweeby Scout's choice that Ireland likes, virtually no one has heard of him.

Now whether or not he can also play Guard remains to be seen, but it would not be a surprise if Bey was a smoke screen for either Randolph, Gronkowski or Williams being likely prospects for us, add in our interest in Kevin Barnes and it is fair to assume that the Don Thomas/Due Dillegence paradigm is in effect and the FO has seen tons of film of MD games.

A sidenote to Dan Gronkowski, he had the 2nd best 60yd shuttle numbers among Te's and is super intellegent as he was nominated both of his starting season for the Academic All America team:
