Weird move, the "name" DefCords have already landed jobs, the Eagles have loved a blitz happy scheme and the cats who run that scheme are all locked up right now.

Solution: promote from within. But McDermott needed to go. Just wasn’t working out.

I think Alen might agree with me on this, which would be the first time today he would agree with me on anything.

He didn't do a good job but I am surprised they let him go so early into his stint as a DC. He had some injuries on that side of the ball and a rookie safety patrolling the back end.

I’m a little surprised as well, but Andy Reid doesn’t tolerate excuses. You either perform or get out.

Of course, that leaves the question why the offensive line coach still has a job.

No excuses but you have to look at the entire picture. The original plan was to have Marlin Jackson play safety, which I think wasn't a bad plan, but he got injured again. Then you thrust Nate Allen into the line up, a guy who is talented but was not always disciplined in college IMO. Once he was put in the lineup, his checks were simplified and he had some success. They had some issues against the run IIRC and then were developing Antonio Dixon on the job basically. Stewart Bradley goes out and Jamar Chaney comes in as a rookie. Then Dimitri Patterson is playing and has some issues but also makes plays.

I’m not disputing your evaluation, but clearly Andy Reid saw something in the interim three days to change his mind.

They were shredded in the redzone. They were so bad the Dolphins may have scored a TD that's why he is gone. Andy needs to look at himself though for the loss to GB. 13 running plays and an O Line that was a mess down the stretch.
