With the New York Jets desperate to trade defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, the fourth overall pick in the 2003 draft, before having to pay him a $3 million roster bonus, the Jets have found another potential trade partner.

After failed talks with the Bengals and stalled talks with the Broncos, the Jets could be sending Robertson to the Eagles.

According to Geoff Mosher of the News Journal, Robertson recently visited Philly, and its resident football team.

Working out a trade with the Jets should be a problem — a third-round pick, a fifth-round pick, and a case of beef jerkey should get that part of the deal done. The problem is Robertson’s contract. Less than two months from getting a free and clear release, Robertson has no real incentive to re-do the deal, unless his new team is ready to fork over the cash.
