This thread has no replies cause it is such a depressing subject. Our secondary is gonna SUCK this year!

ps- ATVZ400, please change your avatar. I don't need to see the image of Zach Thomas holding up a jockstrap anymore. hahaha!

Barring injury or development regression, our secondary will be Jason Allen and Yeremiah Bell at the safety spots and Will Allen and Andre' Goodman at cornerback.

If we we mount some sort of pass rush this year, they'll look better.

I don't think they'll be any worse than last year, which was pretty bad.

I agree with Muck. The pass rush will be a lot better, especially if we can stay healthy to develop some sort of chemistry. If we can just shorten the QB's time to look for open WR's, I think we will be better. I believe that secondary will be a main focus next year in the draft.:wink2:

If healthy i like our starting lineup

Jason Allen and Yerimiah was a bullffrog bell at safety with will allen and Mike Lehan at the corners with daniels and goodman as your nickel and dime. well i at least like our starting four.

A good pass rush can make a mediocre secondary look all pro.
I believe that our safety position is stronger than some seem to think. Watch for Crocker to challenge for a starting spot.

I think it'll be Jason Allen, Yerimiah Bell, Will Allen, and Andre Goodman.

I think our defense will be tremendously improved with the additions to our D-Line and LB's.

Jason Allen and Yeremiah Bell at safety, and Will Allen and Goodman at Corner sound good. Not amazing, but i think its solid and we have much better depth at least.

All our secondary needs to significantly improve is; a> stay healthy, b> develop a pass rush, and c> stop the run once in a blue moon. If we can do those three things, then we've got a decent enough bunch of players to get us through till next season's draft when we'll address the secondary.

    Thanks for that.

My projection is Allen, Lehan, Bell and Allen.

Agreed bro. If we can cut down on the injuries, and have some chemistry back there and know each others tendencies, we will be okay. The front seven will be better, and the secondary will be better from it. This year will be a lot better then last year, because we are healthy, and I believe we have better football people running the organization.

I'm thinking Lehan and W. Allen at corner with J. Allen and Bell at safety. Bell was looking so good before he got hurt...let's just hope he can get back to being a rising star. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that I can see him becoming the face of the Miami defense if he can put a solid, injury free, year under his belt.

    I concur.

With Goodman being our 3rd. Wouldn't be too surprised if I saw Joey Thomas make our roster.

One person I'd definitely like to see make the roster though is Will Billingsley. I love seeing someone who works so hard get his dream fulfilled.

We can have an okay secondary but not really one that would make a QB think twice or hesitate. If some team cuts a starting-caliber CB, I hope we get him. And I wouldn't be averse to seeing a Lito Sheppard trade. If JT doesn't return, our pass rush could take a hit. He's the only one on the roster who can be relied on to notch 9+ sacks a season. Merling and Langford are unknowns.

    CB - Will Allen
    SS - Yermiah Bell
    FS - Jason Allen
CB - Andre Goodman / Travis Daniels
