The Dolphins got Jay Ajayi back on the field Friday after he missed several days while dealing with a knee injury and now it looks like they have another health concern in their backfield. According to multiple reporters at Dolphins practice Friday, rookie Kenyan Drake pulled up at the end of a run and needed medical attention. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports Drake “immediately spiked [the] football and ripped off helmet as he was slowing down” with just a few minutes left in the practice session. There’s no word about what Drake tweaked during the run, but he did have a hamstring injury during OTAs this spring and dealt with a variety of injuries while he was at Alabama. Ajayi and Drake are joined by Arian Foster in the Miami backfield and Foster’s recent past has seen no shortage of injury problems. While the Dolphins hope that these issues will be distant memories in the fall, the health of the Dolphins backs may be a storyline to follow throughout the season.
Who is also considered a china doll. And he is splitting reps with a guy whose knocks are if he can stay healthy. We may be worrying about the health of this position all year long.
