Week 6- So I took a few weeks off, but now Im back...give me a break its my first year doing these.... 1. Oklahoma Seriously, can there be any questions?? 2. Alabama Kentucky scared the crap out of them, but they won me some money. Good teams have to win those games. 3. Missouri Struggled against UB a few weeks back but did they ever make Nebraska look bad. 4. Texas Colorado was looking for a come back game after losing to FSU two weeks ago, unfortunately Texas is back. 5. BYU Can you say this years BCS buster? 6. LSU Im just not impressed with this team week in and week out. Next week v. Florida will tell me a lot more. 7. Penn State Big win v. Purdue at Purdue but the tough part starts now. 8. Texas Tech Hadn't beat anybody till K-State this weekend, with the Big 12 season starting off we will learn alot more. 9. USC What a bounce back game! 10. Florida See USC comment... 11. Georgia No time to get down about losing to Alabama...Tennessee comes down this Saturday. 12. Ohio State Pryor makes a world of difference...but they still need big fixes on D. 13. Utah BCS buster #2?? 14. Vanderbilt Best defense in the SEC?? 15. Kansas What a comeback...better step it up. 16. Boise State Is anybody surprised they are here? 17. Oklahoma State Quietly having a very good year but the Big 12 is laying in wait. 18. Virginia Tech After an early season set back, they are playing extremely well. 19. South Florida Big time let down loss to Pittsburgh. 20. North Carolina My pick to take the ACC. 21. Auburn Rumor is Tubberville is done... 22. Ball State Sad loss of Dante Love, but Nate Davis is the real deal. 23. Northwestern Why is nobody talking about this team? 24. Wake Forest Another true ACC contender, but Navy, yea its been two weeks, but its Navy... 25. Illinois Great win v. Michigan, if Juice Williams can show a little more consistency then watch out.
I wouldn't really rank BYU so high right now. Honestly, I felt the Washington game really exposed them and all they've been playing are really weak teams.
If thats true they will lose soon and then we wont have to worry about it anymore, in the meantime their record is spotless
What? With how close the Ohio game was, and with how solid Ball State has played, it is very possible OSU would've lost.
Ole Miss isn't a bad team, and neither UGA who didnt play or Ohio State deserved imo to be ahead of them. BYU smacked a UCLA team around 59-0 that beat Tennessee the week before and was ranked in the low 20s at the time. Lets also not forget that BYU is on a 15 game winning streak. Which included a big win against UCLA which was in a bowl and a grudge match from earlier in that year. The big game will be in Nov 22 against Utah, at Utah.
The UCLA team BYU faced was a no-talent team that also got spanked by the likes of Arizona. I wouldn't count UCLA as a big win unless it's for a Division II team and I'm from UCLA. 0 offense before Bell returned and the defense is very susceptible to the pass due to very poor CB's (case in point: Mike Norris, starting CB, and I were in the same Exercise Physiology class. I easily outran him during 40 yard sprints in lab despite being 4 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier as well as benched 225 more). UCLA was actually not ranked when they played BYU, whose schedule is a cakewalk for even any 20th ranked team up until Utah.
Florida is too high then Georgia should be 10 then and Ohio ST should be 11, be as it may we lost to then number 1 USC Florida got beat by Ole Miss that just got smacked to South Carolina.
ESPN - NCAA College Football Polls, College Football Rankings, NCAA Football Poll UCLA was 23rd in the AP the week before 26th going into the game I had them at 22 headed in. They were ranked in my book.
I dont know you can qualify what was a very good SC-Ole Miss game as a smack down, but to each his own. If I put UGA 10, Id still put Florida 11, Ohio State would stay at 12. You need to keep in mind these rankings are not simply based on W/L, they are based on what I see out of each team. Florida came back from their loss and torched Arkansas, Ohio State has not shown the same fire or intensity, struggling with Troy, and Minnesota to put them away and needing Wisconsin to really just fall completely apart on defense, though it wasn't a huge surprise. Florida hit a hiccup and was at least competitive v. Ole Miss both UGA and OSU got beat like they owed somebody money.
I know what our rankings were. But the week when they played BYU, we were not in the AP top 25 so BYU has yet to play a team that was ranked when they played em. I know we topped Tennessee but they've been playing poorly as of late as well and really they could've had the game against us.
To be fair they didn't struggle with Minnesota they just sorta stopped playing defense in the 4th QT which scares me. I understand your rankings now.
Like I said UCLA was 26th in the AP that week and only because they had a bye so I think we'll have to agree to disagree there. They didnt get beat to lose their Top 25 status.
