1. WR Keenan Allen 2. CB David Amerson 2. DE William Gholston 3. RB Eddie Lacy 3. TE Joseph Fauria 4. DT Bennie Logan 5. OLB Trevardo Williams
They have Bjoern Werner, Star Lotulelei, Dion Jordan, Damontre Moore, Luke Joeckel, Manti Te'o, Jarvis Jones, Eric Reid and Johnthan Banks off the board by the time we pick at #12 overall. (that's not a copy and paste mistake, they literally leave the last sentence unfinished) Then they have Sheldon Richardson (#15), Terrance Williams (#16), Tyler Eifert (#20), DeAndre Hopkins (#24), Xavier Rhodes (#27), Barkevious Mingo (#29), Sam Montgomery (#31), Justin Hunter (#32), Tavon Austin (#34), Jordan Poyer (#35), Arthur Brown (#36), Matt Elam (#37) and Zeke Ansah (#40) going in between out #12 and #42 picks. Then they have Logan Ryan (#43), Robert Woods (#44), Chase Thomas (#46), Alex Okafor (#48), Corey Lemonier (#49), Lane Johnson (#50), Kevin Minter (#51), Desmond Trufant (#52) and Tony Jefferson (#53) going between our #42 and #54 picks. Aaron Dobson, Oday Aboushi, Margus Hunt, Cordarrelle Patterson (all the way at pick #61, lol), Nickell Robey, Khaseem Greene, Baccari Rambo, Zach Ertz (all the way at pick #67), Quinton Patton, Phillip Thomas and Morgan Breslin (who didn't even declare for the Draft, lol) all go between out #54 and #77 picks. Then Kyle Long, Cornellius Carridine (all the way at #80 overall, lol) and Terry Hawthorne go between our #77 and #82 picks. Then Jamar Taylor, Mike Gilislee, Da'Rick Rogers, Kenny Stills, Jon Bostic, Andre Ellington, Josh Evans, Leon McFadden, Kiko Alonso, Sean Porter, Micah Hyde and Brandon Jenkins are gone between our #82 and #108 picks. After that some names that might be popular that go between our #108 and #139 picks would be Gerald Hodges, James Gayle (who didn't even come out, again lol), Ryan Swope, Johnathan Franklin, Jordan Reed, Stedman Bailey (all the way at pick #122 overall, LMFAO!), Cobi Hamilton, Omoregie Uzzi, Marcus Lattimore, Dion Sims and Marquess Wilson. Then D.J. Swearinger (all the way at #140, lol), Carrington Byndom (again, I do not believe he actually declared), Adrian Bushell, Datone Jones, Marcus Davis, Zeke Motta, Aaron Mellette, Ray Graham, Mike Glennon (all the way down at #167), DeVonte Holloman, Chris Gragg, Xavier Nixon, A.J. Klein, Conner Vernon, Sio Moore and Phil Lutzenkirchen go after that pick. They don't have us picking in the 6th round.
1) It's good to be reminded how piss poor most people are at evaluating players. Gives me hope that other GMs will screw up their picks and the Dolphins won't. Mark Twain - "Here's to fools. But for them, the rest of us could not succeed." 2) I need to see a very good shuttle time from Amerson to feel he can make up for that lack of speed at the NFL level. Else he may have to put on ten pounds and play safety (again).
Prior to 2012 I considered Amerson a corner that should MAYBE be playing safety at the next level. Less than a third of of the way into the 2012 season, I dropped the maybe.
If I knew that's how it would go my draft would look like: 1. Patterson 2. Okafor 2. Thomas 3. Lacy 3. Fauria 4. Bailey 5. Byndom
A couple of notes on this. 1. If you knew Patterson wasn't going to be taken until #61 overall, you'd still take him at #12 overall??? 2. Who is "Thomas"? 3. Again, Carrington Byndom did not declare for the Draft, to my knowledge...so...
If I were to truly re-draft based on their (often absurd) projections, it would be closer to... 1. CB Xavier Rhodes, Florida State 2a. DE Corey Lemonier, Auburn 2b. WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee 3a. DE Cornellius Carridine, Florida State 3b. TE Joseph Fauria, UCLA 4. WR Stedman Bailey, West Virginia 5. FS D.J. Swearinger, South Carolina But of course, that's having zero idea what happens in free agency, which makes the whole exercise a little on the pointless side. Either way if I'm able to grab those kinds of talents all in one draft...to me that's a heck of a haul.
1. True, I just liked him better than Allen, my other thought was Rhodes as well 2. Phillip Thomas 3. Freaking Drafttek, update your crap
