I blew most of my day.. FINALLY my wife forced me to go for a walk and when I got back I pounded through 6 of my To Do list items before letting myself come back to this board. ThePhins is a crackhouse and I can't leave it. That draft game is the crack. And the original poster is the pusher.
My least favorite so far. YOu can do better invid... come on man.. just do it one more time. just once more. everybody's doin it.
You're taking Sylvester way too high.. he lasts til like the 5th round (or did both times I did it). Also, am I the only one who had never heard of Rod Sweeting until I clicked on "Players Remaining" and he seemed like the best of what was left?
Yeah, you're right... I'm just letting you know that he falls even more and you can scoop him in the fourth... sometimes the fifth (see my drafts).
Each one probably has a set percentage in regard to the pick and it "rolls". I need to stop playing online role-playing games. Edit: Barry, look at this likeness, I managed to find a picture with almost the exact facial hair-hair combo
I started getting caught up in their grades and not my personal opinion. A good example is Bostic over Teo.
Yeah.. pretty much if CK has told us about them on the draft forum, we know to take them. So we all pick the guys our gurus like. lol. (okay that's not entirely true, but it's not entirely UNTRUE either. there are guys I disagree with them on.)
I was so pissed when I noticed Teo available in the 4th round, so I attempted a trade, not realizing that each attempted trade up makes the thing advance a pick. He got picked two spots before me beacuse I ws incrementally low-balling the trade partner, not realizing you only get to propose it once before they make their pick. Teo in the 4th would have been sweet.
Yes in the 4th well worth the risk. But if I had too pick one to be a Dolphin??? Jon Bostic. Ofcourse neither will be a a dolphin but ya know what I mean.
Craziness. Although Warfield's 'stache in my sig is definitely more crusty, and therefore more manly.
My first attempt. But I think I can do better. Round 1 Pick 21 (CINN): Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina (A) Round 2 Pick 8 (TENN): Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State (C+) Round 2 Pick 10: Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia (D-) Round 2 Pick 11 (T.B.): Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina (C+) Round 2 Pick 21 (CINN): Arthur Brown, OLB, Kansas State (A) Round 2 Pick 22: Malliciah Goodman, DE, Clemson (C-) Round 3 Pick 15: Johnathan Franklin, RB, UCLA (A) Round 3 Pick 20: D.J. Swearinger, FS, South Carolina (C+) Round 4 Pick 14: Xavier Nixon, OT, Florida (C+) Round 5 Pick 13: Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State (A) Round 5 Pick 33 (COMP): Kwame Geathers, DT, Georgia (A) Round 7 Pick 11: Caleb Sturgis, K, Florida (A) Round 7 Pick 18: Devon Ramsay, FB, North Carolina (F) Round 7 Pick 44 (COMP): Sean Renfree, QB, Duke (A)
Start off with Jacksonville and you can end up with like a bazillion picks including future 1st rounders.
My second attempt. I like this a lot better for Miami: Your score is: 3501 (Drafting Ability: A-, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: C-) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 6 (CLE): Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia (A) Round 2 Pick 28 (ATL): Jonathan Cyprien, SS, Florida International (A) Round 3 Pick 20: Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State (A) Round 4 Pick 3 (OAK): Bennie Logan, DT, LSU (A) Round 4 Pick 14: Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati (B) Round 5 Pick 13: David Quessenberry, OT, San Jose State (A) Round 5 Pick 33 (COMP): Kenjon Barner, RB, Oregon (A-) Round 7 Pick 11: Nick Becton, OT, Virginia Tech (B) Round 7 Pick 18: Quinton Dial, DT, Alabama (A) Round 7 Pick 44 (COMP): Sean Renfree, QB, Duke (A) Your Future Picks: 2015 Round 1 Pick I decided to do something fun at the start. I really like Jarvis Jones, much like many on here like Tavon Austin. So, I made a trade up for Jones with the Browns. I'll operate under the assumption I can get a mid round pick by trading Koa Misi later on. My next pick went to Cyprien. I don't think the FS/SS designation really matters in Miami's system. Chris Clemons is on a one year deal and there's little proven depth other than Jimmy Wilson on the roster. Jamar Taylor I think was my favorite pick. I think he's a fine zone CB and was a great value at that juncture. Travis Kelce is my in-line TE to pair with Dustin Keller and the fail-safe if Keller can't make it through 2013 healthy. Puts the heat really on Michael Egnew to sh$t or get off the pot. I think David Quessenberry is more of a G in Miami's offense and serves as depth for now and replaces Richie Incognito in 2014. Kenjon Barner is a smaller back that can do some different things that can complement Lamar Miller. The 3 7th round picks all serve as depth, and I think they can find roles on the team, especially Dial as a backup at Jared Odrick's position. Sean Renfree, who I think is pretty underrated, gets to duke it out with Pat Devlin for the 3rd QB spot.
I figured you might not like it because I took Stedman Bailey (why is he rated so low?) instead of Tavon Austin. Also a little puzzled by their grade on Sylvester Williams.
Your score is: 3637 (Drafting Ability: B+, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 26 (G.B.): Alec Ogletree, OLB, Georgia (A) Round 2 Pick 10: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA (A-) Round 2 Pick 16 (PITT): Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina (A) Round 2 Pick 19 (WASH): Cornellius Carradine, DE, Florida State (B-) Round 2 Pick 22: Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State (B) Round 2 Pick 23 (G.B.): Jonathan Cyprien, SS, Florida International (A) Round 3 Pick 15: Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech (A-) Round 3 Pick 19 (NYG): Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi State (A) Round 3 Pick 23 (WASH): Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina (A) Round 3 Pick 27 (HOU): Brian Schwenke, C, California (B+) Round 4 Pick 15 (T.B.): David Bakhtiari, OT, Colorado (B) Round 4 Pick 19 (NYG): Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati (B+) Round 4 Pick 25 (G.B.): Jordan Mills, OT, Louisiana Tech (B+) Round 4 Pick 29 (T.B.): Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State (A) Round 5 Pick 13: Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State (A) Round 5 Pick 20 (CHI): D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston (A) Round 5 Pick 33 (COMP): Gerald Hodges, OLB, Penn State (C) Round 6 Pick 13 (T.B.): EJ Manuel, QB, Florida State (A) Round 6 Pick 19 (NYG): Chris Harper, WR, Kansas State (A-) Round 6 Pick 20 (CHI): JJ Wilcox, SS, Georgia Southern (A) Round 7 Pick 11: Caleb Sturgis, K, Florida (A) Round 7 Pick 18: Anthony McCloud, DT, Florida State (A) Round 7 Pick 44 (COMP): Chris Barker, OG, Nevada (A) As many as 17 rookies (all of rds 1-5) might make the 53 with my draft though.

Mr. bang the table for Tavon with his second draft.... Another draft and no Tavon. You're fired, in case we ever thought of hiring you. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I have to admit, I've been looking looking forward to seeing yours. I see you couldn't resist wheeling and dealing too. I ended up with 32 picks. Curious... Why Quanterus Smith and Duke Williams. Gooden and Pryor also surprised me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I did the same thing. There is way too much value being offered and literally, you can walk away with about 15 players capable of starting or seeing heavy rotational snaps... And if only half of those pan out to be very good, you have a draft where you got eight high quality starters. That would be incredible. I don't see how Ireland resists trading down in this draft. So much talent in rounds 2-4 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Not a single one of those bothers me. With luck, you can trade Misi and Bess this season, then Vernon next season. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I love Quanterus Smith and the great thing about him is you can place him on IR for the year, have him get stronger, and punt the question of who you have to kick off the roster in order to fit him. Same is true with Marcus Lattimore. I doubt D.J. Hayden would stay on NFI very long. Duke Williams is just a really nice safety with a lot of physicality to him. Very fast and very explosive player that can come down and play man coverage off the line as he's quick as a whip. Has some off field troubles. It's a roll of the dice. Lonnie Pryor surprises you? Fantastic player. Same with Zaviar Gooden. You can't coach what Zaviar has going for him naturally which is just incredible athleticism and that young, dumb, crazy energy that helps you make plays. He could make one of the two recent signings we made obsolete within a few years.
well a lot of guys seem to be in trouble, i went from 9 fist bumps to only 2, i guess the ladies were complaining a little.....lol
I hope nobody thinks I was actually trying to be realistic with that draft by the way. That draft would see me rostering as many as 30 rookies in 2013. That would be a salary cap disaster in approximately 4 years.
