http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...y-if-donald-driver-has-a-future-in-green-bay/ If Green Bay don't want him back,I'm wondering if he would be good pick up for us. While his production has declined he would be a great asset to our young receivers learning a new system he knows all too well. Just something to chew on.
Given his age (progress stopper), I don't think Driver would be an Ireland signing. I think the only way he'd be signed here is if Philbin explicitly asked for him.
Now that we've added four receivers in the last two days to add to the what seven already on the roster, I don't see us adding Driver until we need to. Plenty of balls to go around and find out what we have until training camp starts. Coaches are going to have a better idea of what we have at the wide receiver position with each OTA day. We know what Donald Driver gives us at this point in his career.
I hear you. But adding a wise vet to all these young guys might also be able to help their development...
The Dolphins will go into camp like this and see how these young guys do. If it isn't satisfactory enough then Miami can look at trade options for veteran WR's.
He is a pretty old acorn at this point. Any receiver declining in that offense must not have much left in the tank.
Big Donald Driver fan. He can contribute in a reduced role. The question is if he's worth having on the roster and practice squad'ing other folks. I'm all for the Fins giving him consideration as having effectively another WR coach on the team.
