Just came across this and am now following. Sadly he only has 3,383 followers and isn't verified. Still...it is him. Lets rise up and show the greatest coach alive our support. https://twitter.com/DonShula Some recent nuggets:
Thanks for sharing! We need to enjoy this man while he's still with us. Looks like age is starting to catch up with him in some of these pics.
Right. Hence, age has caught up with him. Before I didn't think he looked as old as he was. Now he's starting to show his age. Granted, even at his age, I wouldn't pick a fight with him...
yeah, looks like he's got the walker parked in the background of that Marino pic... unless that's Dan's. Dan looks like he's sitting in his lap. Great to see the Don though.
He has a very hard time getting around. If you have noticed the past couple of years he is always sitting for team functions and never walks onto the field. He is brought out by golf cart, even to the middle of the field. You can see a pic here of how his left leg is....
Take it for what it's worth guys, but my father-in-law is 86 and barely weighs 100lbs. He lived in my home for a couple of years before we had to succumb to putting him in a nursing home. The one thing I learned about the elderly and their health is weight matters. When you're elderly, the more weight you have, the healthier you are in general. The "Don" is carrying a healthy amount of weight. I think he'll still be with us for a while longer. The thing that takes me aback about the whole article? Don Shula is 82...and using Twitter???? Isn't that a young kid's toy? I bet it was only until recently he learned a "tweet" wasn't just what "Rockin' Robin" did on "Jay Bird Street"
Guess I'm gonna have to break down and get a damn account. Can't let an 82 year old man be more up on social media than me, especially with Ochocinco now on the team.
Between reporters, Mike Dee, players, former players, and such.... you can't beat Twitter for first hand account of what is going on with the organization. Same age as ol' Clint. Who'd a thunk it? My favorite all time coach and my favorite all time actor, born the same year.
I did, and man it's worth it. I always thought facebook and twitter were silly wastes of time. But twitter really is a great way to get all the info you seek in one place. It depends on how you use it. I don't tweet at all, so following me would be pointless. What I do is follow everything from Local/World news feeds, Sports teams & reporters, players & such, fav TV shows /Netflix news, hilarious comedians, & so on & so forth. It makes life A LOT easier, and it's addictive. If you don't follow @Bill__Murray your missing out big time !
No offense, but usually if you get blocked by a player it's because you were baiting them hardcore...
Clint is still an intimidating badass. I mean, he still looks tough.I was shocked to recently learn he was that old. I've always viewed Shula as a grandpa type. Probably because I grew up with him being all smiles on The Don Shula Show and then retirement. Wasn't until my teenage years that I learned about his intensity.
