JS will have a smile on his face after reading the first paragraph. Dansby in FA and McClain in the draft?
it's possible ... especially if we trade down .... wonder if Crowder has any 'real' trade value ..... could have a deal in place on draft day now THAT alone would make my day.
In the interest of discussion (and since it's going that way anyway), let's make this thread about Dansby playing SOLB and use the other bits for other threads. After going back and refreshing on Dansby's career, it really shouldn't be that big of a surprise I guess. He played the position, albeit in a 4-3, for three seasons and was one of the league's best there. He's also got two years on the weakside. I wrote a little something this morning for the homepage about it. Karlos Dansby Miami’s Target at….Strongside Linebacker?
Dansby playing OLB sounds exciting, as I believe he can be a force no matter where he plays, but that means we still need an ILB badly and would look to take one in round one. That would set us up nicely at the LB position.
Bringing in Dansby is a must, imo. Frees up where Miami can go with the 12 pick, and really gives the team options. And like others have said, I think whether outside or inside, the guy along with Channing Crowder will make for a good pair on the inside. Putting him on the outside will definitely give him more opportunites to make plays though.
