Wow, that seems crazy that Henne is #2 behind Marino for 300 yd games. Albeit, WAY far behind Marino. Wonder if Brees breaks Marino's record tonight.
Except when considering our starting QBs since Marino retired: 2000: Jay Fiedler (15), Damon Huard (one) 2001: Fiedler (16) 2002: Fielder (10), Ray Lucas (six) 2003: Fiedler (11), Brian Griese (five) 2004: A.J. Feeley (eight), Fiedler (seven), Sage Rosenfels (one) 2005: Gus Frerotte (15), Rosenfels (one) 2006: Joey Harrington (11), Daunte Culpepper (four), Cleo Lemon (one) 2007: Lemon (seven), Trent Green (five), John Beck (four) 2008: Chad Pennington (16) 2009: Chad Henne (13), Pennington (three) 2010: Henne (14), Pennington (one), Thigpen (one)
Hey guys, do you think because we have a defense that knows how to play together and are going in their 2nd year, and they have a defense that doesn't, and is implementing a new scheme persay, that it kinda offsets the whole advantage some were talking about, you know that the patriots would have over us because of the lockout, and Henne and Daboll learning each other..? If the theory that the offense is ahead of the defense in the beginning of the year, then maybe that advantage isn't as great as we once thought..
Was thinking the same thing until I started pondering all of the other QBs we've had. Still seems insane really.
That list is a sad testimony to the Quarterback search for the Dolphins. Whats really sad is we had two opportunities to get Drew Brees and we passed on both occasions. The long futile search just adds to the mystique and legend that is Dan Marino. Maybe Henne has finally gotten over the hump and his career will turn around like some other late bloomers and the misery that has been the Dolphins QB search will stop.
