TE SirVincent Rogers (6-4, 310, 5/9/86, Houston) Pardon me, BOSS. But, Daaaayyyyyuuuuummmmmmm!!!!! Can he catch the football???
Nice blurb below Ellis here. I was reading up on him earlier and he was heavily recruited out of high school (one of the top 10 DT's recruits in the country). He supposedly ran a 4.8 as a HS senior and was offered by several SEC schools - including LSU - but eventually signed with Mississippi State. Wouldnt that be funny if we found our NT in the depths of the undrafted FA Pool? http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...phins-finally-find-a-nose-tackle-louis-ellis/
Another note on Ellis. Also had offers from Ole Miss, Auburn, Oklahoma State and others. Intriguing kid. http://mississippistate.scout.com/2/279812.html
10 Minute Louis Ellis video for those of you that just cant get enough. To clarify, hes number 92 and lines up as the left defensive tackle in a 4-3 front. FYI the video here says he has a 500 pound bench press [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-SDWecoxgg"]YouTube - Louis Ellis #92 Shaw University[/ame]
Ireland could have used a 7th round pick on him, but chose not to. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2009/draft/players/81083.html Maybe camp filler, maybe not, I hope he kept himself in shape because last season Torobio was able to make it to Traning Camp via the Mini Camp coming up this weekend. Perhaps Ellis can do the same? He was one of the better small college prospects this year along with Sammie Lee Hill and Chris Baker.
we need to develop one of these big bodies on the roster into a NT usually take about two years to make the transition Soliai has to step up big in 2009. But even if he gets the job done, Ferguson won't remain too much longer. We need depth & the depth has top be coached-up & developed
'poorly conditioned' ... seems like a trend with any luck though, he'll 'get it', get with the program and show something.
