I think Landry will be a solid player for the Dolphins for years. I do like the Hines Ward comparison. He blocks well. He seems to like physical contact. He's aggressive and tough over the middle and has great hands to make the tough catch.

The one area I think he needs work is more quickness running his routes. Seems to get in to them a bit slow and needs to sell some routes a bit better. But he has the ability to do that.

I was at the Alabama-LSU game this year and the number that stuck out the most in that game (on either side) was 80. I remember saying to some friends, "80 is killing it." I like to watch these players against top teams and Ds - get a better idea of what they will do against NFL calibre talent, imo. Landry held his own.

Or maybe we don't make moves and miss all of our players. These are obviously guys we wanted and for you to say we could have gotten a certain player here, or a certain player there is just ignorant. You font know where the players could have gone.

The person that said he can't block wants Michael Sam. That's all you need to know.

That's ridiculous. You don't bring in good players to replace your best performers. You bring them in to replace the ones who under perform or are never healthy. Hartline is not going anywhere.

    youre welcome

You are insane. Hyde is explosive and very hard to bring down. He had more yards after contact than any RB in the draft at 3.5 yac per carry. San Fran got a wrecking ball with wheels.

    youre welcome

Every player has something they can work on to get better, even players we love.

What jumps out to me about all our picks so far is that these are day 1 contributors. No projects like Dion Jordan or Will Davis. James, Landry, and Turner are all going to come in and be on the field right from the get-go. Landry was, imo, the most 'plug-him-in' WR available. Hickey wants immediate on-field help for Tannehill. Not messing around.

I see it, but think Hines Ward is closer. Kid will get physical, will be the hardest worker and Hartline works hard. Catches everything which is great for Tannehill.

This draft is awesome. I LOve it. I dont care to armchair gm it. well this player could have been had this place could have picked up this player, yada yada yada

so if we win the super bowl in the next couple years will you all cry yeah we won but would have loved it better with this player of if we had gotten this player later? Its about what they do for the team. Landry is the type of kid you want on your team. he takes mathews or Gibsons spot

I don't think that's necessarily true at all. That depends on how well they practice and do minicamp.

I do not mind Landry, however I did not see the need for a Wr who does not return kicks, and is not exactly a burner, imo it is more like they drafted him so they can cut Gibson.

Matthews filled in really well for Gibby, why use a #2 on Landry?

A vision pick in a way, does not fill an obvious need, he is seen as a cost saving upgrade imo

Mathews did ok. But he's certainly upgradeable. Our offense looked inept when Hartline went down as well.

I think we, as Dolphin fans, have become too satisfied with mediocre offensive output. That when a guy like Mathews has a couple decent games, we get excited. Truth is: Our offense has been ranked in the bottom third of the league for the past 5 years. These guys are trying to change that culture I think. I applaud the efforts. Hopefully these players turn out to be high quality.

I don't know that Rishard Matthews should be considered a slot guy. He only got moved there after Gibson went down, the year before with the same staff he hardly lined up there.

IMO Landry will outplay Gibson and Mathews easy. He's also going create more plays than hartline too. I'm excited.

Landry was one of my favorite receivers simply due to the way his catches broke down. All sorts of different routes, depths, YAC ability, soft hands, hard worker, played good competition.

    Nice pick.

Disagree, when in games Matthews made plays, I suspect ppl do not quite grasp how miserly Philbin is with getting young players reps.

I don't hate the pick, also think this once again falls on "Coach Joe", if Turner rides the pine ala Dallas Thomas, and Jordan does not get on the field very often, I'm going to rightfully question "Coach Joe"'s ability as our head man

This is just a misconception based on the fact the majority of our rookies last year were injured when they were drafted. They got behind in TC because of it.
