I don't want too see him in Miami uniform ever again. Thanks for 2008, but Miami needs a guy that can throw further than 3 yards.

I like Pennington but honestly he needs to retire. When you can't make it 2 plays without having to have surgery, it's time to retire.

I can certainly agree the guy is done ,but to say he cant throw for three yards is Ridiculous.I think it time to move on and for him to think about the damage that may come out of another injury. :knucks::knucks:

Well, there's at least one thing about him that won't get hurt.

Let's see we have Henne who throws 3 yard out post and gets picked left and right or we can have Pennington throw 3 yards and not get picked off often.

Yeah, I remember reading that somewhere today. I don't think they should sign him to play but to coach. To my knowledge we haven't signed a QB coach yet, even though I heard they was talk about signing Palmer to coach the quarterbacks. I think Pennington with Daboll would be a good combination. At least I think it would be.

I read a few days ago that Ross offered him a job. But after thinking it over Pennington decided to see if he can still play. Just my own opinion, but I think if/when he discovers he can't play, the offer will still stand.

said this would happen, and for the reason that I think he believes that Dr.Andrews did something different to his shoulder, making it stronger and more safe than ever before..This is possible in today's evolving science.

Chad Pennington is Tony Sparano's man...He trusts him and thinks he's the smartest person in the building.

I agree with Tony in the sense that we as an organization must do everything possible to secure this unique individual.

This is good news for us considering the variables of QB free agency, and the fact that any new rook is gonna need to sit for a bit..

Iam happy he's decided to go for it..hes still fairly young, the players absolutely believe in his intangibles, and he has the ability to put us in rhythm,{which we never had all season}, he demands that other players play up to their capabilities {which did not happen last year}and he knows how to emotionally charge a football team..

I will take all that over a QB that has a rifle arm, but not much else.

You're right DJ, Penne is definitely my man if I'm starting a flag football league.

Unlike another NFL quarterback who should have retired a few years ago, I like Chad Pennington. He's not brought the drama that the other guy did. Pennington in my opinion has been a class act, taking the backseat when asked to and continuing to mentor Henne. Even though I do think Pennington should retire, is he still has the fire in his belly to play again, then by all means, give it a shot, be it in Miami or elsewhere however...

I would hate to see Pennington's image and reputation destroyed by tryiing to be like that other quarterback...trying to keep going past his prime. If Ross or Ireland could convince Pennington to retire and sign him to a long term deal as a QB coach, I feel that would be best. It would protect Pennington from potential long term harm and would benefit us in having a student of the game doing nothing but excusively mentoring Henne, or any other QB draft pick and mold him into a solid winner.

But like I said, because Pennington has been such a class act in Miami, if he still wants to give it a shot, then best of luck Chad.

I really like Penny. His work ethic, and dedication to the game are the best I've seen. Having said that, I have to try to look elsewhere. IMO, it is time for him to become a coach.

Im really surprised he wants to come back again. I'm really not sure, there really can't be much left of that shoulder.

I agree. He should call it quits before he really hurts himself. Pennington has the heart of a lion but the arm of a gnat. I think he'd make a great QB coach for us though. I hope the boys in the front office have their glasses on and put him behind the desk.

Look, he knows if he wanted to be a QB coach for us he would now but he doesn't. If he wants to play, let him play elsewhere. When his playing days are behind him, he will not want the grind of the travel required to be a coach in the NFL. He's stated many times, he would love to coach High School football. He's making his money while there is a market for him and when there is not, his family is happy in Florida, look for him to be coaching on Friday night and home to be a father and husband. I can't hate on him for doing the same thing I would do if given ther opportunity.

I guess the balance of ego and confidence that makes them good QBs in their youth makes them selfish bastards when they're older.

Just like Favre this season, all he'll do is take up a roster spot that could go to a young QB.

And all he'll do if he does get to play is break like a dry twig.

I know were gonna have to protect him but I'll take that flag football qb's game over your boy midseason last year....so to me, if he can get his arm back to wear it was, I'll take it man, iam desperate for his QB functionality, ability to keep an offense in rhythm, and emotionally lift a team.

GM, you know i'am done with Henne, so what do you want me to do?, lol...We don't have many options in terms of veterans..
