Dolphins new receivers coach...

No idea who or what they can do, lets sounds like ALOT of new hirings lets hope they can do more than learn the job at our expense!

 

You know, with all the Iowa connections joining the staff and the potential move to 4-3; I start to wonder if we might take a look at bringing Matt Roth back? I guess it all depends on how Ireland viewed that whole situation and how badly the bridges were burned, but I think he could be great moving back to a natural hands down 4-3 DE.

EDIT: Never mind, just realized he signed with the Jags. I swore he was still floating out there after the Pats sniffed him without signing.
Edit 2: It was only for a 1 year deal in Jax, so I guess it's still possible after all.

 

I'm hoping all the Iowa stuff doesn't bring us a RT with our first pick, even though Riley's a great player and would make us better. He'd be third or 4th on my last after Coples and Tannehill for certain.

 

Actually I was hoping they would be bringing in some NFL assistant coaches from GB or other winning team not from Iowa or Texas AM .

Several of the hires hires could be interpreted as giving a helping hand to friends with the objective of building up their curriculums.

 

There was a post a few weeks ago that said GB coaches were off limits for Philbin. I see it more as Coach hiring staffers sharing a similar philosophy. At least the Dallas connection seems to be broken.

 

Based on the records of Iowa and Texas A&M, I'm not sure what these coaches bring to the table, other then the fact they know Philbin. Right now I am not impressed with the staff Philbin is putting together but I'll wait to see the results on the field before making an actual determination in regards to this coaching staff.
