04/02/08 - UNLV linebacker Beau Bell will make a pre-draft visit to the Browns on Thursday, April 3, the linebacker said Wednesday. "I'm excited,'' said Bell, 6-1, 244. "It's my first visit, so I'm really looking forward to it. Teams are only allowed (20) visits, so I really appreciate the Browns making me one of theirs.'' Bell, projected to go in about the third or fourth round, is one of the players the Browns are considering with their fourth-round pick -- their first selection in this draft. They first became intrigued with Bell during the 2006 season when they scouted UNLV cornerback Eric Wright, whom they drafted with second-round pick in 2007. "Eric has told me great things about playing for the Browns,'' said Bell. "He said it's a great system, the coaches are cool and that he's fallen in love with the city.'' Bell is hoping that the Browns -- or anyone considering drafting him --will overlook the 4.9 he clocked in the 40-yard dash during his Pro Day at UNLV on Tuesday, which the Browns attended. He suffered a bruised tibia during the Senior Bowl at the end of January and wasn't able to train for the 40 until two weeks ago. "I just want to relay to teams 'please don't hold that 4.9 against me,''' said Bell. "That's not me at all. Before the Senior Bowl, I was running in the mid-4.7s. I can guarantee teams I will be back to that very soon. If you turn on the tape, you can see that I'm not a 4.9 player.'' Bell, projected as an insider linebacker in a 3-4 defense, said a review of his films would "show teams how much I absolutely love this game of football.'' - Mary Kay Cabot, The Cleveland Plain Dealer http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=33379

He has been fighting the injury bug, but if he were still there at 4-1 would have to consider him. I was high on him in December, but after reading more...would prefer either Shawn Crable or J Lehman.
The Sporting News Draft 08 Guide has this to say about him. Its probably alittle dated now since I think it was written shortly after the Senior Bowl: Can't put up a link because this is a snipet from a magazine article. I realize that he's no longer a first round prospect but he was highly thought of prior to the combine. Sounds like he would be a great pick up in round three or four.
But remember, I believe he completely missed the Combine actually..and DID miss his Pro-day at UNLV. His "People" are keeping pretty darn quiet about his injury whatever it is.
Kinda neat to see how lack of information can hurt someone's stock. Can't blame anyone but his "people" if its not that serious.
