I'm not disagreeing with you? I agree he's great.

I'm also saying he's not under contract and are risk at losing him which will hurt. The Dolphins will have to make difficult choices due to their cap restrictions.

Between the lack of cap space and few draft picks, we're likely going to have to depend on him again in 2024. Hopefully at LG this time and not C.

It will be interesting to see if they can sign Hunt and Williams. Because of Williams injury you might actually be able to, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Grier thinks Eichenberg at C is enough….

There should have been a true backup center. How many years now have they played with OL being interchangable? that was unheard of before the Dolphins started doing it.

But, they also played better teams when he was out.

If we were in a better, more typical salary cap and draft situation, I'd honestly be fine with letting Hunt just leave. I've never thought that highly of him and he's already going to be 28 years old next season because he was an old rookie. I'd rather have someone else, but if he's more affordable than the other free agents out there and willing to come back due to familiarity, then beggars can't be choosers.

Williams is the better player but also coming off of the serious injury, which could potentially lower his cap hit but also is an obvious risk to how he'll play next year. My guess is that Grier will work contracts around, kick the can down the road absolutely screwing us in a few years time, and bring Williams back. For 2024, its probably the best choice, but we absolutely have to find another long term answer for both players in the draft at some point.

What’s truly horrible is that, even if Ross wants to fire Grier, he won’t be able to because of the Flores racism suit hanging over their heads. F! Completely screwed:

I heard that even with injury Williams will get 10 million.
