In order to prepare for the Pro Bowl in Orlando, the NFL is moving one of its Mickey Mouse games there as well. As part of the league’s “re-imagination” of the Pro Bowl experience, they realized that at some point they might want a dry run in a stadium in which they don’t ordinarily use. So they’re going to let the Dolphins “host” the Falcons during Week Three of the Preseason in Orlando’s Camping World Stadium. In the league’s release, it also said the game will provide the league “the opportunity to observe the gameday experience and stadium operations.” It’s also a useful trial balloon to see how preseason games are received in markets without NFL teams, which is something the league ought to consider as many fans with season tickets have grown tired of paying full fare for games that only barely resemble football. It also buys the Dolphins an extra week to make sure their renovations are finished on time. Their only preseason game in their soon-to-be-named building is in the final week of the preseason. Team officials told Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald the project was still on schedule, and that wasn’t the reason the game was moved. Dolphins season ticket holders will receive a refund for the game, making them the big winners in this deal, for not having to pay to watch a preseason game. I was a season ticket holder for nearly forty years before moving to Maui a few years ago. For the majority of those years I purchased four season tickets each year. I loved attending the regular season games, but it always irked me that I had to purchase preseason tickets as part of my season ticket package. I never wasted my time going to these games and most of the time I couldn't give those tickets away for free. The last year I purchased season tickets, the cost for the preseason games for the four tickets and parking came to over a thousand dollars. I am happy for those season ticket holders who will get a refund for the game which is being moved. To me, parking should be free for preseason games and tickets shouldn't cost more than $5 a person. This way those who can't afford to attend games during the regular season can attend a game and take their kids to watch the Dolphins in action. Even if the action means absolutely nothing.
We are only getting 4 percent back though which is basically nothing since they changed the format of how season tickets work not all the games are equal pricing anymore which sucks but I will take the 83 bucks back from them!! I hope they move The Titans game as well since I live in Tampa and never go to or can sell pre season games!!
they are full of **** about this being the league's request: Stephen Ross, billionaire developer y'all
I don't know why so many hate pre season games. It's a nice ease in into the regular season. A calm before the storm, kind of. The games are a blast. Zero stress...just sit back and relax. Win or lose...who cares. Just want to see some good plays. After 8 months without football, the preseason games feel like the Superbowl!!! Plus, the hope and blind faith that we are going to win the Superbowl with a clean slate. I WILL say that the 4th preseason game is really a waste of time though. Preseason rocks.
