great post. I agree 100%. There was a mentality on defense that enabled them to play the Pats like the Giants did in two super bowls.
On offense, they did a lot of motion to get the tough yards and move the chains. They know who they are now

I was mistaken.. you are already in need of suicide watch.

Here is what you aren't getting, most of your ideas aren't attainable. They might be what you strive for, but you make compromises with the reality of the situation.

I have this great idea for a restaurant. I'm going to make the food super cheap, I'm going to prepare it really quickly, and its going to be extremely high quality. I wonder why nobody came up with this idea already, I'm going to make millions! It doesn't work!

You want us to "go hard" at solving our problems. I assume this means throw money at problems in Free Agency. You want the issue to be sustainable, which means you have to be careful with your money to make sure you can afford to repair the roster as needed. You want depth (3 QBs on the roster fighting for the starting job) that means spreading the money out...

And the best part is... you want to blow it up immediately when it doesn't work out quickly... which leads to eating a good chunk of guaranteed money, while you clean house from top to bottom.

Look at the youth on this team. Try to understand what is being built. We aren't building for a single run 1 year. We are trying to build something that lasts, and that just takes longer. Gase is in year number 2, do you see a difference in this team or not? I stated it in another thread, I don't have a recent memory of a time we had so many quality contributors coming from our drafts. Its worth seeing what year 3 has to offer.

Okay, but did you know ESPN had us ranked as low as 8th last season? That's the part you've ignored all year...we are playing without our starting quarterback and our starting middle linebacker. Of course we're ranked 21st right now....we just lost five in a row before the last two wins.

As far as "Can we beat KC or SD".....yes I think they can. We just embarrassed the perennial SB champs with a perfect game plan, which was as much the coaching staff as it was the players. There's a reason they win 15+ games a season and only lose one a few. Are you saying it's impossible for us to do that again? If you want perfection every season, then become a Pats fan....that's the only option.

But to your main point- do I trust this team? HELL YES I DO! They have not given up all year long and they've continued to play violently...you couldn't ask for anything more as a coach.

You're so focused on saying everyone sucks though that you can't even enjoy an awesome victory....you serve out your monthly ban and then you're right back here complaining about things and talking about who to fire. We just beat the freaking Pats, for God's sake, and you see it as a bad thing because certain people might not get fired now. I hate to say it brother but if we're beating the Pats like that, it's a very good thing and a very good sign of what's to come. How on Earth could any Dolphins fan not enjoy that? But here you are talking about ESPN rankings and why all of us should hate our favorite team.

Xavien Howard is the first guy to pick off Tom Brady twice in a game since 2014.

Games in Miami are Tom Brady’s nightmare, career stats prove this.

The history of this team under Coach Gase started last year. So far their history is 1 for 1 in making the playoffs. Players now on this team that preceded Adam Gase will perform to his standards or eventually be replaced by someone who will. This means old attitudes are gone or will be shortly. For this reason, previous team histories are a declining factor with Gases' Dolphins.

Try taking another tack for predicting our future.

If you know it doesn't matter then why are you bringing it up? And yes, teams can improve and seasons can turn around in as little as two or three weeks. It's happened so many times in the NFL and really in every professional sport. Players improve, coaches improve, things start to click. Coaches and players get more familiar with their strengths and weaknesses.

Playoffs are a reasonable topic, as long as people understand we’re a long shot and need other results to go our way.

What’s more important to me is establishing a winning culture in the last 3 games. We’ve finally seen this team start to perform, but its taken the removal of a star running back, the firing of a cokehead OL coach and players on ao and D finally start to line up correctly and perform the plays as they are designed to be run.
The biggest problem Miami has had has been that the players have had an attitude that clocking in, doing their hours and then clocking off is good enough. Gase is trying to get the players to commit to excellence, to commit to achieving team (as opposed to individual) goals.
If the players keep freelancing and luck their way into the playoffs, I won’t be so happy. I’ll be much happier if the players continue with how they've played in the last 3 games, with discipline and effort, even if the results don’t fall our way.

As for trying to lose for draft position, me I’m not so keen on that. Teams like Green Bay, The Patsies, Pittsburgh and the Don Shula phins show you don’t have to tank To stockpile talent. And even if you look at Indy’s suck for Luck campaign, it hasn’t turned out that well. Indy’s initial success with Luck was more due to the rest of the AFCS being historically bad and now they’ve caught up, Luck is injured but Indy are hamstrung with his contract.

Tell me you aren't referencing playing without Mcmillan at MLB as being a reason for some of the losses. Tell me you aren't actually referencing a rookie who has never played in a regular season game as being the reason we haven't won games. Please tell me that's not what you could possibly be referencing.

Regarding starting QB being out WE KNOW. We should be able to win with a backup with Gase.

I can't speak for Landry but I love that we've won these two games. However, we've also looked like T-Rex dung in a bunch of games. Let's keep hoping we win more and make sure we don't get too high too fast. Two wins from now, I'm going to be back to being over the moon about the Dolphins and might even out optimism you. We just ain't there yet.

Correction on qb....should have been more prepared as a team incase RT got hurt. Cutler could have been in camp since May.
Now if that's the case, the scenarios would be different with the remaining qb's

McMillian had showed enough in the preseason to earn the starting LB'er spot. It's a safe bet that losing him hurt this team.

Nope, we're not there yet....but could the team you saw on Monday beat a Bills team that we swept last season? You know the answer is yes. Everyone knows the answer is yes. If we play with the same tone against the Bills on Sunday, then the Chiefs game looks a whole lot less scary. And I guarantee a win at home regardless in week 17.

I'm not making excuses for the reasons we lost though, I'm just putting things in context. When we played bad, we played bad...everyone here was frustrated. But now that we're playing great in all phases of the game when it really matters the most (December football), I just can't get on board with the negativity.

And just so you realize- no, you're not supposed to beat New England like that with your backup quarterback. You're not supposed to beat NE like that with all your starters. That's why less than 3 teams seem to do it a year. But now that Brady is bruised and battered, I sure do like Pittsburg's chances of doing it this week....that's how freaking dominant we were last Monday. It was clearly a season-defining game and I just don't see our guys choking against Buffalo.....unless it's deep snow. That's the only thing I'm scared of at this point.

In order to win that game, Pitt is going to have to out-shoot them, I don't think the Pats are going to be anemic on offense again this Sunday.

I don't think anyone is proclaiming us to be a good team yet Dirty. Are we still the same team that lost 4 straight - yes. However, have the last 2 weeks seen an improvement? Even you can't deny that (don't ESPN hate us anyway, so they are always going to p*** on our parade). Maybe the players are buying into the system or are actually running the plays that were called. We did go on the road to SD and did beat them - ugly win I agree but still a W.
Also, we aren't quite the same team that got hammered by Pitt last year - the OL is much changed, the starting QB & the RB are different, we have a few better pieces in the defense as well. It's not been great this year, no one will deny it but it's all about the win, no matter how ugly it is. Maybe the fact that the Pats didn't have two important offensive pieces playing but we have to take the luck when we get it (we've had plenty of bad this year ourselves) and can take some optimism from the performance over the last 2 games.

I mostly agree with you, but I'm sorry...I didn't see any luck involved in the Pats game. We stomped their butts in every aspect of the game. If we just squeaked out a win then maybe I'd still be on the fence, but it was as dominant of a performance as NE has seen this past decade.

He's a rookie that's never played a snap. Sure, I hope he's baller and dominates next year. I'm just saying that if we are going to go that deep into the garbage disposal looking for reasons....should we be upset for the playoff games we didnt win last year because Peyton Manning didn't come and play for us? Should we get a pass for the Pitt game because we could have won that with #18? Imagine how good we would have been if we had drafted Aaron Rodgers so we obviously need to mull that over each and every week and make sure it's in our excuse portfolio. How about if Cecil The Diesel hadn't needed to play snap the dragon in that lady's living room or if Ricky had not had SAD and been a ganja fiend? Dan did have that achilles that one year so let's make sure that's in consideration. How far are we going to go back here?

We signed Cutler two days after Tannehill got hurt....and it takes a few days to sign anyone.

I'm trying to be respectful here but you are completely delusional with this stuff. The multiple accounts. The constant negativity. The spam posts. The starting arguments with everyone over everything. The pure hate for practically our entire roster. The fantasies you dream up of firing everyone. Not a single thing you post is even remotely tied to what's actually happening with this team.

I am saying this as nicely as I possibly can- you need to see a professional and get put on medication to help you. Something isn't right here and if you keep this stuff up, you're headed for a full mental breakdown. As much as I dislike you at times, I'm genuinely trying to help here...see a doctor and get this stuff under control. Life is way too short for you to be going through whatever it is that's made you obsess over this stuff.

Please get some help for yourself and your family. I mean that in the nicest possible way.

Last year we destroy Pitt in the regular season, then get destroyed by them in the playoffs (sans our starting QB). But I was told we were what our last game says we were.

This year we get destroyed by a lot of teams, then go on to destroy two teams in a row including the Pats. Are we what our last game says we are? Nope, all the games before that tell us what we are.

So three players out of 53 . Two coming off injuries and an all time great Dolphin. These three are the holdovers that are causing the problems from "the losing days". Like I said . General statements you make that are disingenuous. Pouncey is likely gone. Tannehill is wait and see. Wake deserves the benefit of the doubt. 3 out of 53....do better.

Those percentages go WAY UP each week we win a game and see the other needed games break our way, right? So if we win and the Titans lose our playoff odds should jump, then jump again if we beat the Chefs and the Titans lose again. We could roll into the final regular season game just needing a win at home to get the #6 seed.

Way too much needs to happen right now, and I tried to quit on this being a playoff season, but the Phins keep dragging me back! :)

It’s called being a fan. It’s not a game of Madden, you don’t get to build the perfect team. You try and cover the imperfections to make it to the second season. You’re not wrong about what you’re saying regarding the holes on this team (though you’re dead wrong about Gase), but wins are what matters. While I don’t think we actually will run the table and get in, people have every right to believe if they so feel until we are mathematically eliminated.
