Top 5-10 defense with a suspect LB corps no less. We've been rotating in everyone at one point or another. Outside of Jenkins, there isn't anyone else I could definitively say should be back and start for us in 2015.

As for Philbin. I wanted to give him this year to see what he could do. I don't think he's progressed to the point where he's a keeper. Depending on who's available this off-season, I would keep my options open. If Ross decides to keep him because we play well down the stretch (plus suffered tough losses this season) and to keep some continuity, I won't be angry. Philbin hasn't reached Ireland status in my eyes.

Hickey, Philbin, and Tannehill all have 1 year deals going into 2015. If he decides to let them all have one more crack at it and let them play out their deals in 2015, so be it. I don't think it was a total coincidence that all of those contracts end at the same time. And Ross is somewhat close with Jerry Jones, right? Maybe he takes a page out of Jerry's playbook. The forever 8-8 cowboys have already reached their season win quota and might actually turn the corner.

Amazing how these polls change after wins and losses. With a similar one game above .500 record, but coming after a win, I remember the poll being mostly positive. Same one game above .500 record after a loss and it's negative. A game against one of the best QBs of all time fielding a 3rd string CB for part of the game, and with the RT filling in at LT gone, but our young stud QB still going toe to toe with said best QB of all time. For now, I'm still approving. My stance will change if Miami finishes any worse than 9-7. It might change at 9-7 too depending on how they get there.
