The US can very well be looking at a double dip recession, as predicted before the Stimulus package was implemented.

Like several of us been saying ,you in particular, the stimulus will not work. Take away the census hiring and unemployment went up:up: The real recession starts soon when the Govt propping up ends

That was more Jdang and Mi2cents, my alarm involves real inflation.

If the wet firecracker stimulus is shown to be an utter failure, and it has been, the economy will tumble back to recession which means..Porkulus II..

Had a conversation with store manager at Publix yesterday. Talking about that very thing....inflation. From his input and my paying attention we have had a food increase of about 20% in the last 3 years. Packages are staying the same size, contents are shrinking and prices are rising. I am a contractor and I am in Home Depot and Lowes every day. When I say every day I mean it. I would estimate about a 15% increase in building supplies across the board. If you were to take certain items like copper wire and other commodities the increase's are several 100 percent. As long as gas continues it's incline and the printing presses continue to roll there is no end in sight.

Exactly, but the .Gov numbers never reflect those price changes, as far as they are concerned, the US is at virtual -0- inflation.

I kept track of the foodstuffs my family used, their prices have increased from say .99 for a box of pasta, to 1.20, and there are many items that the 20% increase has hit, and fresh meat such as Steaks have also really increased in price.

Things like that, everyday items, have quietly increased in price.
