He's the kind of player I could see being great if he gets into a good situation... If he ends up on the Jets I think they **** up his potential, Jets-style.

It pains me to read that... This Gains guy has not a single clue how nutrition and mass building works apparently. This idea that he's going to put on 15 lbs in such a short amount of time and not put on significant body fat (at least in terms of body composition) is based in fiction. Especially for an athlete, who has been weight training for the last six-eight years of his life at least. If he gains 15lbs, I guarantee 12lbs will be fat. It's scientifically improbable (at least, naturally) to add more than .5lbs of muscle per week. And that number decreases after years of lifting. We're looking at around .2lbs of muscle gain per week, at best...

I think KB is right. It's going to take a few years for this kid to truly get into NFL playing shape at DE, much like JT. If he's a first round pick, he's going to be a guy who disappoints in his first contract, I think. Certainly, not a guy you draft to win now.

Kent I didn't see there where he stated that the four lbs per week would just be muscle..I think the trainer understands that if he wants to get Jordan in the 250 lb range by the combine, he would be a dumass if he didnt.

    Love me some Dion Jordan..

Jordan is a really interesting guy. He's just a fast athlete playing end. He's exceptionally quick and there's significant upside there, but it's almost all up the field stuff. Yep, he has dropped in coverage and yep his hustle is superb but he's an outside shoulder rush threat who doesn't use his hands particularly well and uses his speed above anything else. Work inside my man. Again, he's part of this flawed class. But he's a good flaw, a fixable flaw. The deeper I dig for real talent, I end up coming away with decent mediocrity. I will say this, he has exceptional upside and he's a much better player than Damontre Moore.

The way he worded that statement, it absolutely sounds as if he thinks DJ is going to pack on lean body mass.

Doesn't strike me as "He's going to gain 12-13lbs of fat." Which is what will happen. I think he's too small to make an impact within the next 2 years. Maybe year 3. But at his size, I don't think he's a "win now", player. JMO.

I think he would be a fine selection, I like this kind of player..you want players with great upside, and he has it..Throw that freak to the wolves and let'em play, I'll live the consequences...even if Ireland is fired, we'd still have a player on our roster with great upside..

I'd really be happy if Richardson or Jordan was on the board at 12, I have them pretty high in this draft, when it comes to jordan, I guess I just feel strongly about that skinny strong athlete.

Interesting really, to me this is sort of still my view of him.

Did not realize how much his labrum effected his playing time at Oregon when I posted what I did.

I think he was a reach at 3, but we didn't pay that much to get to three, which ameliorates things a bit. I hope he has the smarts and the determination to make the most of his physical abilities.

Can't wait to see what he does with our coaching and seeing what Cam Wake does.

Even if he is not every down he may be able to be a poor man's Aldon Smith as a rookie (who, though not starting, garnered 14.5 sacks; If Jordan got 2/3 of that number this year, that would be great).
