    dignity deaths

    i wonder how this will pan out. i mean doctors took an oath to help people have a better quality of life.

    I have always thought "deaths with dignity" are no different from regular suicide. I don't support either.

    Also ... the oath you're referring to does not mention quality of life. In fact, it includes a promise not to administer a lethal drug.

    If a person wants to kill themselves they can do it anyway. I don't believe anyone should just go up to a doctor and say "Hey my life sucks right now, end it okay?" but people do deserve to make the choice of whether they want to live or die at some point.

    I see both sides of it. For me it comes down to a religious perspective, but I can see if someone is trapped in the hospital with no family or friends and in constant pain... you may want to just end it.
