http://espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp13/story/_/id/9588994/richie-incognito-miami-dolphins-was-altercation-training-camp-sources I don't see how anyone with common sense would want to hit Richie.
I've figured it out! Smith punched Incognito because the guy Incognito punched was a relatives' of Smith's!
Maybe Richie was going to tell ESPN he was starting a leadership council. Philbin shouldn't jump to conclusions.
Richie is a hot head but if the hotel won't release the video I don't see how he can be punished if he's claiming self defense.
Welp, I don't expect athletes to be monks, however for me this just highlights one of the things that has to be dealt with for players in Miami. Who can forget the CJ v Ginn race that never was? Stay outta the clubs fellas, do what pros do, go to Brazil.
joe philbin don't **** around. Am I the only one imagining Philbin calling, hanging up the phone, and then hitting Richie on the back of the head?
Unsubstantiated rumor at this point. Would be nice to see the video tape though. Definitely in the best interest of the hotel not to release it though.
I doubt this goes anywhere. Like was mentioned, it's unlikely either organization will want this getting a lot more air time.
Please rename thread to COMPLETE NON-STORY regarding Incognito. This only came up because of the Smith suspension and someone decided to dig a little deeper... stupid
First thing I thought. But, at least I'm sure Texan fans were congratulating themselves for at least 5 minutes.
Too much irony for this Incognito story to break this week. Smeer canpaign. And the bouncer had no injuries noted on the police report. These Texans fans are really trying.
What I don't understand is why Schefter would engage in such an obvious hit job in retaliation for what happened with Antonio Smith. I think someone with Miami ties who also hates Incognito and happened to know about this incident one way or another (Dockett?) probably tipped Schefter off but the fact that Adam did such a shoddy job investigating it is strange.
Shefter should be embarrassed. Beasley just wrecked this whole story. @AdamHBeasley: I gotta say, if ESPN had simply called Miami Beach PD for the police report, this would be a far different story.
On Mike and Mike this morning, Schefter finished his report on Smith's suspension by saying that RI wasn't innocent. He talked about RI's reputation and history. Golic then defended RI saying he didn't care about the rep and that Smith should have been suspended.
Reputation is overrated... Richie has kept his nose clean since being a 'Phin and only had issues earlier in his career. Damn near been a model citizen since... Golic is right.
Golic is exactly right. Incognito is dirty, but the helmet swinging is in no way an appropriate defense to the dirty play.
