Question is, who will they bring in? Will they bring anyone in? I have a feeling that the front office will not get flushed.

If I'm running the Lions, I'm looking at Tom Heckert, Jr. as the new GM, or possibly giving Bill Cowher whatever he wants.

That makes sense. They could send that off and use the 1st overall on a lineman, be it defensive or offensive.

From what I've heard, they're not going to clean out the front office. They want to keep it as it is now. That, in my opinion, isn't a smart move.

Yeah, they could go Michael Johnson or Andre Smith, even though there are questions with Smith.

Detroit will improve when Ford, Sr. stops calling the shots. Ford, Jr. seems to know what's going on, but he doesn't call the shots.

They could go with one of the LTs like Ciron Black, or maybe a big DE/DT like Sen'Derrick Marks. Trouble is, this draft isn't strong at the top. Detroit should try to trade the 1st overall pick for pennies on the dollar just for the sake of moving down.

Martin Mayhew isn't that smart, though.

    I concur.

I think they'll have too early of an pick to go with Ciron Black unless they move out of that pick but that's a pipe-dream. Sen'Derrick Marks could be an option if he declares. I think a guy like Terrance Cody should be looked at. Rey Maualuga, is overrated in my opinion, but he'll still go early and they need a playmaking MIKE. George Selvie is another option at defensive end. I think they could go NT/MLB and then a LT like Ciron Black or Ebbon Britton in the twenties with the Dallas pick. I would see that as a successful first round.

No matter what position they draft round one it will be an upgrade honestly. They really can't get any worse. The problem will be getting the right bang for their buck, and I dont think they will.

What is/was the score of this game by the way?

I didn't literally mean Black as the #1 overall pick, just used him as an example. Michael Oher has been floated for the spot, but I'm not on board with that, not with how long it takes him to grasp schemes.

Maybe they'll go QB. Or maybe Michael Crabtree. :shifty:

Oh, sorry for the misinterpretation. Yeah, Oher is well worth the top pick but with the red flags, it's difficult to select him.

    lol @ Crabtree.

Alex, its 47-10 with 3:40 left.

I like the Cards @ Eagles matchup... but I'm at my sister's, which means no NFL Network for me.

My goodness I just watched one series of play and Detroit has to have the worst offensive line I've ever seen. I don't remember the last 4th and 29 I've seen that didn't come about because of a flag or botched gadget play.

If I'm Detroit I just line up in shotgun every play and throw Calvin Johnson a fade route.

I really think the NFL needs to get rid of having 2 set teams that play every Thanksgiving. What a brutal game.

Agreed, at least on the part of the Lions. The Cowboys should probably stay on Thanksgiving simply because of the fanbase. (Though I think they should play the Redskins every year on Thanksgiving.)

Despite the fact that Dallas is up 7-0 as I type this, I think it'll be a much closer game. Dallas will win handily, but it won't be a blowout.

I think they should do it like the flex games for SNF, except schedule it like a month out. You would certainly get better games then the Lions Titans.

And yeah, Cowboys Redskins would be a good thanksgiving game.

holy crap the lions suck. they showed a whole new level of suck today. what a riot it was being at the stadium though, my girlfriend is a titans fan, so we went over, just so happens we were surrounded by titans fans too (no worries, i was wearing my phins sweater)... there were some lions fans to my left... they left about 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter  good times, good times.

i'll post some pics tomorrow if i get some time. i know the lions suck, but if youre looking for a place to go catch a game at on a roadtrip, ford field is awesome. i love it there.

the titans have some pretty cool fans too. pretty sure were going to make the trip down to nashville next year to see the phins there.
