For fun, a look back at the 05 Combine:

    http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/lookback2005combine.htm

Wow has Merriman fallen from the heights, he was available for a 2nd round pick, and Derek "Cameron" Wake, I'm still surprised he was not drafted.

I would seriously consider trading for Derrick Johnson

Really? What would you trade is the question.

I think he is perhaps a bit better than what we have.... pretty much another Crowder. Dont know that I would give much up for that.

Well, he has been benched more or less, and KC is medium dreadful, which makes me wonder if he cannot play for KC, how can he play for us?

I think he's at least another level or two above Crowder. I would try to package a 3rd and Ayedele. Derrick Johnson simply doesnt get along with Haley. He hasnt been playing like crap. He's got the tag of underachiever but thats because they expect him to be a top five linebacker. His main drawback is injuries IMO. I would do this in aheartbeat if we can get him for a 3rd and a player that isnt in our long term plans

he wants to leave and doesnt get along with haley. the guy has been playing in alot of different schemes in KC. This guy has pro bowl talent but simply hasnt lived up to that billing. that is not to say he hasnt played well. he's played good but not great. i think he simply wants out of KC (can you blame him). Miami could be the perfect situation for him. I think he could be a monster for us and if we followed up by teaming him rolondo mcclain we would have the best ILB tandem in the NFL

A third? He is so deeply in the doghouse that nearly any offer would more than likely be accepted Adamp, his problem is A) no special teams play B) injuries C) none of our guys have been injured and they already know the system we run.

DJ is not really in a position to push anyone off the roster.

I would also see what they want for DJ and wouldn't mind sending Ayodele and a pick there to get him.

He's better than any LB we have. Arent they asking for a 2nd for him? This is simply a case of a coach and a player not getting along. This has nothing to do with his talent

I like DJ, but wouldn't give up anything higher than like a 3rd, and even then it'd be tough to do.

Disagree, he does not know our defense, you saw the mess the first two weeks, how is supposed to just step in and know where he is supposed to be and what his coverage responsibilities are and were the Safeties will line up Etc?

And that is the difference between brining in a MLB and a passrushing OLB, the MLB has to know the system and where he needs to be, a passrusher can just head upfield on passing downs...

well if he was that behind we could bench him for a couple of weeks until he got up to speed. we have torbor and we would do fine until johnson was ready. plus he's 27 so we could have at least five good years of football from the guy if not more

I don't think I'd give a player and a 3rd. A 4th and a player yea. Unless the player was like Dotson or someone who is typically inactive.

Doesn't sound like a guy we'd trade for. I mean, he can't get along with a Parcells guy. He's going to get along with this one?

He's also in the last year of his contract I believe. So a new contract comes with him. That's a whole other quagmire of issues.

He's not a big POA guy anyway. He's a pursuit guy.

I don't want to get marginally better. I want to get MUCH better.

Does Johnson make us MUCH better inside? I have my doubts. We're probably better off waiting for the draft.

to me its the equivalent of a defensive version of a Braylon Edwards type of trade. If all he needs is a change of place to get motivated then you'll hit a jackpot. If not he's still better than Crowder and Ayedele and it only costs you a 3rd or so. Plus Parcells and his son in law get to do another deal together.

How many defensive coordinators and different schemes has he played in his five years now?

I seriously doubt he could play any worse than our current shlep who also doesn't seem to know what the heck's going on, so what's the problem. LOL

I'd rather bring back ZT than corrupt my eyes with another blown Achin play. ;)

My big question ... is there any Chiefs player NOT in Todd Haleys doghouse? And the big question, does he put HIMSELF in the doghouse for his abysmal coaching?

A 3rd and Ayodele for Derrick Johnson? Lol? I'd have to think about giving up a fifth for the guy. IF we ran a 4-3 sure, but it doesn't look like he can play in a 3-4.

Only a third? The guy is an injury prone, underachiever, who probably can't play in a 3-4. I might give up a 5th, maybe throw in a player who doesn't get much PT anyways. A 4th or higher? Keep him.

DJ..if he is cheap enough, but the player it would make the most sense to trade for imho is...Shawne Merriman....I'd drop a #3 or maybe a #2 on the guy, and IR him for next season.

DJ makes only "if" the staff feels A) we need a ILB who can cover B)DJ can do that from Day 1.

Our schedule is so compressed over the next 3 games that anyone we acquire has to be able to produce against the Saints.

Is he really that bad though?

I haven't watched the Chiefs this year, but he did inherit a 2-14 team.

actually think you're right. if we throw in ayedele than it should be a 5th or 6th. if its just a pick then no more than a 4th. a 3rd is too high. we dont have a 5th this year.

wathced them vs giants. very bland team with little innovation. have no idea what he's doing with his personnell. trying to get the team to buy into his system whatever that is but i think he's failing

A few are, the holdovers generally are not, the so called "talent" on that team is not buying into his program.

Dorsey,DJ, Bowe gave him problems early on.

dorsey has actually started to come around a bit. Bowe and DJ seem to be "get me out of here". The guy has a new offensive lineman every week playing (and not due to injury necessarily) 1st and goal on the giants 1yd line and he had cassell throw twice to pad his stats to justify the 60 million dollar contract instead of just giving it to Larry Johnson.

I would trade our 3rd round pick without even blinking for D.Johnson. He is drowning in KC. He would fit in very nicely in Miami.

KC won today, that makes a trade much more likely to happen.

Hmm...two weeks to learn how to run our coverage scheme is not alot of time, so I still don't think it will happen.

I wouldn't throw in Ayodele. Ayodele isn't great but he's solid, and I can't trust DJ to come in and produce immediately, or ever in a 3-4. Torbor though, I'm all on it cuz Torbor sucks.
