Fox’s Jay Glazer reported Sunday morning that the New York Giants “got suspicious” of the Pittsburgh Steelers during their game in Week 13 and actually tested two of the Steelers’ balls for PSI on the sidelines. Their findings? That the balls fell below the 12.5 psi minimum required by the NFL for ball inflation.

"Last week the New York Giants got suspicious of the Pittsburgh Steelers during their game so after two takeaways from the Steelers, the Giants actually tested two of the footballs on the sidelines to see if in fact they were, dare I used the d-word, deflated," Glazer said. "Two of the balls came in under , so they sent them in to the National Football League. Still waiting on a response from the NFL."

"The officiating game ball procedures were followed and there were no chain of command issues," league spokesman Brian McCarthy. "All footballs were in compliance and no formal complaint was filed by the Giants with our office."

A person with knowledge of the team's actions confirmed to USA TODAY Sports the Giants did not submit a formal complaint. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not addressed the report.
