Defense getting the best of the offense early, a good sign or no?

Not really a conclusion. An opinion on whether it was a good sign or not. A sign. A sign does not equal a conclusion.

Everything in his post says not to make a conclusion.

Asking people to conclude whether it's a good sign or not isn't asking people to come to a conclusion?

    I'm out.

    Bye.

people are jumping on him about asking for a conclusion too early.

That means they are accusing him of asking for a conclusion of the offense and defense for the year, after padless OTAs.

In that OP, he was not asking for anyone to make conclusions about the team. In fact using words asking people not to make final decisions, since it is early.

If you think his post is asking for a conclusion about those OTA sessions then it's not too early, because those sessions are over.

If you can't see that difference you're just staking a position and not moving no matter what.

    Oh bull****.

Can we stop pretending we don't know each other's stances and posting histories?

Is there anything in the original post asking for anyone to come up with conclusions about the team this year. Quote it.

The only people thinking he was asking for a conclusion don't understand the meaning of the word "sign."

Dear God his original post is full of warning signs not to form conclusions

    All good man.

    I should've dumbed it down. A lot.

I even threw in "something worth monitoring" and they still didn't understand it.

Here is what they deduce everything to be. "Oh he is saying Tannehill isn't playing well" who cares that he is likely getting less throws in these spots than most.

We also both know if I started a thread saying "wow fellas Tannehill is torching the Db's" Thea same guy's would be like hell yea man, he's the man!!

    So predictable.

"What is the excuse this year? I thought this was the breakout year for the offense?"

This was said in this thread. In June. While players are wearing shorts.

But yes, it's only the Tannehill lovers that instigate and cause half the threads to go off the rails.

" sign." You don't need signs if there is a conclusion. Signs in the way he used it, indicate something in the future. A portent.

If it is time for a conclusion you need conclusions, not signs.

Dear Buddha are we having this conversation?

"Sign". "It is early." "monitor this and see"

I get the feeling if he specifically said "don't come to any conclusions" you guys will still accuse him of asking for a conclusion. This is absurd.

You should post the quote then instead of opting about excuses and bad play.

The quotes from Gase I read was "The defense took it to the offense today.", and "Since OTA’s began the defense has been good overall. Tight coverage. Good team speed. Good grasp of playbook."

There was also this: "Isaac Asiata is training at both left guard and right guard. It’s hard to tell with no pads how the linemen are really doing."

Oh. You're a few posts behind now. We're onto bickering about why Fin O asked for conclusions about the team after one round of underwear Practices.

Because you're taking shots at others for getting defensive. I was showing you why they were in the first place, and to a larger degree, why it keeps happening over and over.

I know you and others may think it's the case, but it's not always the Tannehill fans that start the instigating. (Not saying you were, just that both sides are guilty.)

Settle down Captain Hero Savior, Brady didn't start this post so I'm not sure why your cape is on.

Asking people to decide if X is a sign of good or bad is asking for a conclusion if X is good or bad. This is basic language and logic stuff that even your boner for semantics can't intelligently argue against.

I once made a thread, in the hopes of cleaning up the board, that was for all Thill discussions. I used the extreme ends of opinions on him in the title of that thread. This OP and you and many others lost your collective **** accusing me of making some statement I wasn't making effectively killing that thread and allowing Thill arguments to continue infecting everything.

So now you're going to pretend this bull**** thread isn't an attempt to sow negative **** about the offense and extension, Thill? Really?

    *****es please....

I would say 95% of the board are Tannehill fans. We certainly do have posters who criticize him extremely harsh. But I'm not them. When he plays bad I tell you when he plays good I tell you.

Just because I'm constantly disagreeing with a couple of first team all trolls who happen to be Ryan apologists. Doesn't mean I do not like the guy.

You and danmarino mention Brady so much for no reason I am beginning to think you secretly want to be Gisele.

Second, Fin-O has been extremely positive about Tannehill the past few months but you can get Tanny's heart shaped image out of your eyes you can't even see that.

Because honestly, I saw him do things late last year I had never thought he was capable of doing. He looked aware in the pocket for the first time as a Dolphin.

I can certainly see why some are still skeptical, just watch 55 min of the Rams game and Baltimore and you certainly have reason to not be comfortable.

But the reason I am is because Adam Gase has done in one year what Joe Philbin couldn't do in four. Develop a QB.

Oh wait...it's always been his Guards.

    Oh. Sorry.

I think people should go back and re-read the first page. Finster brings Tannehill up, specifically. Fin-D didn't, I didn't. I think my first post was pointing out why people had an issue with the thread... it's June, and no pads. Other people blew this up.

But then you accused Fin O of asking for a conclusion where he clearly didn't. So yeah. He just asked if it was a sign. Not to jump to conclusions.

Notice you said Finster is the first person to mention Tanny? Fin D is arguing that this thread is a slight against Tanny. Hence his mentioning people's "posting histories"

For some reason, for some posters if you're not glowingly talking about demigod Tanny, it's perceived as a negative. This has happened many times now. It's funny.

I will not be trolled back into the conclusion debate. My point is simple, people posted addressing what FinO said, without making it about Tannehill... despite what you're implying.

Here, I have quoted, in order, a bunch of the posts from page 1. Please note, the conversation drastically turned when Finster started talking about the offense, and specifically taking about how rusty they are, supposedly, despite Tannehill running practices with the recovers in the off-season.

The point? Stop trying to blame FinD, myself, other "Tannehill lovers" for detailing this thread. It's easy to see where things take a turn.

I'll throw my two cents into this, because Fin-O and I have some Tannehill related history. I think I'd say... he's been very critical of Tannehill's play in the past. As have I when I've felt it was deserved. However, to label Fin-O as a Tannehill fan, or lover, or whatever stupid term we're using around here this month is just... off. While it appears to me that he's warmed up to him a bit more, I think that's completely understandable given the improvement we saw in his play under Adam Gase's leadership as opposed to Philbins.

In a related note, I think it's completely possible to say positive things about him, without being labeled whatever stupid term we're using now around these parts. Some of us are just quite simply fans of this team, and yes, that would include it's players and there's the possibility of saying positive, and negative things in relation to those players based on how we see fit on a certain topic. Fin-O is certainly no exception here. As I've said, him (or her? or it? I mean, who know for sure the thing likes the Buckeyes...) and I had some previous battles over the guys play where he was taking the negative side on some things, and I wasn't.

I, personally and just sick of the whole labeling, and side choosing blah blah blah whatever you want to call it garbage. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it could be positive, or negative, and it could, and should likely change game by game depending on the performance without being a hater, a lover, a defender, a blah blah blah I just think you're off here on Fin-O.

Ugh... I feel sick for somewhat defending the (insert your own description of Fin-O here).

To be honest, I didn't really go back and look at what you were saying or the context of it. I just saw the comment referring to him as a "fan" of Tannehill, and thought I'd just say... hey now, wait a minute, I don't think it's fair to class him, or anyone that way. He's been equally harsh on him at times, just as a way to show hey, just because you might say something positive, or negative, or whatever the case may be doesn't all of the sudden make you part of team tannehill or team anyone but tannehill. It's all good man, I was more making a general point, than singling anyone out in any way.
