Dear Microsoft, You suck. That's really all. It was a mere two weeks ago when I called into customer service reporting that my XBox 360 had finally hit the wall, the infamous red ring of death. I watched on as the three red quarter circles flashed at me, as if it were laughing... I turned it off, then turned it back on. I turned it off again, only to turn it back on. Fail. Epic. Fail. I called Microsoft and told them to send me my "coffin" to ship away my XBox 360. I spent a half hour on the phone with some girl who could barely speak English telling her that my damn XBox 360 was broke and I didn't need to test it 50 times to figure it out. I still think that it's one of lucky's relatives, but I don't know for sure... I swear, I don't know where the customer service call center is located, but if I ever visit there... I'll probably piss on their door. Every single one of them. Now why am I writing this letter? Because it's been two effin' weeks and the damn box hasn't come. I received the e-mail the next day telling me to print the label and the instructions when the box comes. But has the box come? Hell no. I wanna play my XBox 360, I'd like to destroy people like Skeet84 in NCAA. I'd love to destroy the self proclaimed Madden guru, gish, in his own game in Madden 09 (I'd even let him play as the Cowboys, the cheap bastard). I'd love to play outdated games like Halo 3. But can I? No. How am I suppose to see what new game the Mor has illegally downloaded? Oh wait, I can't. Maybe the box will come tomorrow, but it probably won't. Microsoft hates me, I've decided it ever since they came out with Vista. No worries though, I'll be calling customer service... again... having to deal with their agent that cannot speak english for 30 minutes of my life that I won't ever get back. Microsoft, I hope you rot in hell. Sincerely, GridIronKing34 PS: I could put this as a blog, but no one reads those... besides, I want people to tell me when my damn box is gonna come!
Mine sat with the delivery firm for about a week.. find out who they're using #(it was UPS over here) register for an account with the tracking number and find out if they have it and when they plan on doing it. Once I registered, I was able to track it and gave them a call to arrange a time and date.
India. That is where the call centers are. If it's UPS, just got to their homepage and enter the tracking number. No account required.
that sucks GIK, seriously though, it should only take a couple days to get a box. I know, I've had to do it a few times. The third time I just kept the box they sent back and used it for the next time, cause there will be a next time.
Guess I dont understand this? You mean this happens often? WTF. These arent disposable razors we are talking about...right? Figures I guess. I mean, their operating systems are nothing more than bandaged up Beta tests, no reason for them to get carried away with anything else.....yet people keep buying into it....
Where have you been? On the initial run it was like 30% RRoD rate (I had it once on my first 360, and then once more on my current 360). They have made changes to correct the problem on current models, but I am not sure if they can ever stop it from happening with their current builds. I also don't get the OS comment. I run plenty of different types of OS's by them, and most don't have issues on their own. It is not until you introduce other applications that may or may not have been tested properly that issues do arrise. Hell, in my experience, most issues result because of the user.
you have to put it in your own box. I just went through this a couple weeks ago. They said they are doing that to speed things up.
Ahhh BS!! Everytime they "Release" a new OS we have to wait until SEVERAL patches come out. Happened with 95, which actually became 97 after all the patches. THen again with 2000, XP and now VISTA. The next time they get it right the first time will be the first time that has heppened...except for NT I guess. I guess as far as the 360 goes, that would frustrate me to no end. I would easily pay the extra for the Sony I guess...or just stick with my boring old Wii. Too many things to get upset about in this world, no reason for my game console to add to that list.
you don't have to put it in your own box, they try to make you buy your own though to save costs. They give that "it will be faster if you use your own box, we'll just email you the shipping label." I said nope, send me a box. eventually they will send you a bigger box and ask to send them the power supply too so they can give you a new one of those. I'm on my 5th Xbox so I've gone through the system a few times.
agreed, but like Stitches said the problems are mostly from people who got in the first year. Microsoft won't send you a new console, they are only sending out refurbs so the cycle doesn't end. I asked them last time if they would just give me like $75 off a new unit and I would go buy a new one and they said no. They should have taken the deal since I'm sure they've spent quite a bit more than that overnight shipping me boxes...
I haven't thrown a box away lately... and they said "we'll send you a shipping label and your box should arrive in one week." I'll just give up and take it to UPS and let them box it up.
Yea, that's what I was mad about. I was like, are you going to give me one with a falcon chip? Because I know they can't fix the problem forever with my machine. I didn't write down my machine ID, so I am not sure if I got mine back or not (I'm guessing not). If they would have given me like $150 credit for my machine, I'd be fine and go get like an elite at least a newer one with HDMI.
if you treat it like a woman and play it right, you wont have any problems.. havent had any problems with mine... or my xbox..
griddles before playing me at madden: griddles after playing me at madden: hurry up microsoft!!!! im hungry for my mcgriddles!!!!
Dear GridIronKing34, Haha. Sincerely, Microsoft P.S. We are still awaiting the shipment of your box. Please wait 3-6 months for shipping and handling. Thank you again for your patronage.
Yeah, says the guy who lost his "Madden Championship Title Belt" in a matter of what? One game? Go lose to Mr Big Katt again...........................
Well with no threat of you taking your business elsewhere why should Microsoft care if you're satisfied with the quality of their product or their customer service? Just saying? Would you buy a car with a 40% fail rate?
Thats what I'm saying. You all KNEW this was going on but kept jumping like lemurs? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9ARvGS3mhk]YouTube - Leaping Lemurs[/ame]
I'm pretty sure that Microsoft would care about my opinion simply because mine is in the majority; if they didn't, they would not have extended their warranty. And I bought it about a year and a half ago, it's not like I bought a few months ago. And the 40% fail rate is a joke, definitely exaggerated. I'd like to know how many have failed after they revamped the hardware. I'm not talking about the ones bought before the revision, the ones after....
And I got mine after they made revisions, but it wouldn't surprise me if I didn't get a revised one with how up to date some of the stores are...
I really don't think it's an exaggeration at all actually. They had to extend the warranty but that doesn't change the fact that they shipped hundreds of thousands of bad units out and sold them to customers. And obviously some are still having problems. When you buy something for hundreds of dollars it should last more than a year and a half. Anyway, I'm not trying to start some crusade against Microsoft, i use plenty of their products, just not xbox 360.
