Just an FYI.......thank God, hopefully it gets completed by tomorrows game...... http://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/statuses/250988047699681280
I hope not. These crappy refs are very entertaining. I want these refs to officiate every single NFL game for the rest of my life.
How long is the honeymoon period? Can we start criticizing the regular refs again, like during every other season, in 2 weeks?
Funny how the NFL was stern in backing their replacements for making the right call Monday night then turn around and quickly get a deal done. That is about as hypocritical as it gets.
Some of the replacement refs are so bad they were even previously fired by the Lingerie Football League. Seriously. How inept does one have to be to not be able to focus on the players in a LFL game??
Anyone think the real refs will come in and be rusty? Or be hesitant to make the tough calls because they will be under more scrutiny than usual?
Yup. I had the same exact thought. It's like a player missing pre season and a few games and jumping right back in the lineup. They're going to need to adjust to the speed of the game. That being said, I think they'll be fine in terms of making quick and decisive decisions. They fully understand the rules. That said, they blow calls too. Don't be shocked If you hear fans ***** about them...
What? No more Baseketfoothockey? They wont send the Knicks out to kick a field goal against the opposing teams goalie with a runner on second? What kinda crap is that?
PFT says this is a done deal. Hmm a few days after one of the worst calls in league history the league has officials ready to work Thursday nights game. Go figure!
Reports are saying that it is Officially done and crews will be reffing the sundays games but not sure about the Thursday night game yet. Edit: Apparently there is a crew in Baltimore ready for the Thursday night game. WOO HOO
Nope. There is an article on Bleacher Report that links to the LFL Facebook page, which refers to a Fox News article in which a spokesperson for the LFL said as much.
yes its finally done. They will ref the thursday night game. We won't have to worry about this for 8 more years!
Regular refs to work Thursday game after agreement - a tentative eight-year agreement had been reached to end a lockout that began in June.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter RT @LATimesfarmer: Ed Hochuli told me as soon as he found out NFL deal was done, "I dropped down on the floor and started doing pushups."
Chris Mortensen @mortreport When this deal is reviewed, as one exec checks in, many people will wonder why officials were locked out in first place. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Game officials’ compensation will increase from an average of $149,000 a year in 2011 to $173,000 in 2013, rising to $205,000 by 2019. Chris Mortensen @mortreport RT @CertifiedBA power and leverage, letting people know they're replaceable.>> turns out they were wrong Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Beginning with 2013 season, NFL will have option of hiring a number of officials on full-time basis to work year-round, including on field.
he started doing push-up bra's. don't ask me how that's done, that's just what I heard through the great vine.
