http://www.nfl.com/combine/live Well, not a "dolphins" topic per se, with needs at running back today should be an interesting watch. BTW, the 3 cone drill is almost as important as the 40 time. BTW, times are CST, not EST, so nothing starts until 10 am.
Excited to see this guy:
Julio Jones breaks out the 4.39, so far though this is not a particularly fast crop of players. Sort of like Randall Cobbs as there is a huge crop of Wr 6'2 or larger, as the cb's get bigger to deal with them there will be opportunities for shorter Wr's who are explosive.
Christ, Cam Newton jumped 10 ft+. EDIT: 2nd jump was 10ft 6in When I first saw him I thought he was a LB. He is huge.
Mallet is looking great. He just needs to work on his mental. I agree Kaepernick has a crazy arm and is HUGE.
I want to see if Newton breaks 4.63. BTW do not count on it, this seems to be a slow track again this yr
How funny, for all of the hype Newton is receiving, Josh Portis Tied his broad jump at 10'6 and ran a 4.63 40..but they barely mention him... The Draft is such a funny beast.
Missed where he won the national championship and the heisman ....and as far as ego , no former or current players have that do they.
Taylor ran a 4.45. As for Newton, why gush about him and ignore Portis for any reason other than Hype?
Julio Jones running well is impressive. He has so much talent. He just needs to be in the game every snap.
At running the Spread? And that is one of the issues I have with the Newtonian Hype, sunshine and butterflies about his athleticism, no mention of translating Spread Offense to NFL offenses.
Come on, padre. Every one in college runs the damn spread nowadays so yes, he runs the spread better.
I think Hankerson and Julio are the two big winners out of the WR's. Edmund Gates running 4.35 and broad jumping 10'10'' just now. Holy crap, I need to see some tape.
Niles Paul. Always had some talent but inconsistencies catching the ball and injuries have slowed his production down at Nebraska.
Which doesn't mean much of anything Alen, I'm a Newtonain agnostic, either way as under my theory if a Coach has physically talented players then they should design stuff for the things they do well it is just ignoring the difference for no other reason at all but to Hype a guy is not doing anyone a service.
Watching the 2008 draft, one guy stood out to me that I kept saying we should draft. DeSean Jackson. I'm getting that vibe from Julio Jones and that Edmund kid.
Nebraska you mean. Exactly right though. Would make the great catch, then drop the next ball that hit him in the hands. Favorite player 1 play, and then drive you crazy on the next play. Didnt always seem to have his head in the game at Nebraska, remember 1 assistant coach saying this past season, when Niles had his "angry face" on all week during practice hed have a good game, only problem is he doesnt always have his "angry face" on. Not to bad of a returner either when he had his chances.
With some luck he could be a Dolphin. Rams really need a WR, every other team above us looks like QB or defense.
I think the Texans go Db or DT, Vikings go Qb, Lions go Tackle, Rams go Wr (though there defense needs help), and we go????
Only thing about Julio is that he doesn't play at that speed or doesn't appear to play at it. I figured he'd be the one who would run a 4.48/4.5.
I'm hoping St. Louis can get Green so we can get Jones. He just looks so strong. I think he can be better than Green if he goes hard every play.
