That was mostly due to injury though. Their biggest mistake and what caused Tim to lose his job was the Hutchinson fiasco
But can he go back to fist pumper now ? Can he really expect Tony to get his players attention ? They know for sure Tony is in a weak position, and people are all alike, they will take advantage of a person in a weak position to go about their own agenda.
That is what worries me is that we have Ross, an admitted Non-Football guy, making football decisions. Parcells, for good or bad hired Tony Sparano, not Wayne Huizenga. Sparano answered to Parcells 1st, then to Wayne. And Wayne was okay with that because he wasn't a football guy. Who is advising Ross ? What football guy is he leaning on ? I hope not Parcells and if not Parcells then who ?
This isn't twitter, its Steve Wyche reporting on the NFL Network from the Dolphins Training facilities ! Its legitimate and credible reporters.
I addressed the same issue in another post. Something needs to be said to stop all the media "rumors". Cowher wants full control. I don't think Ross gets rid of Ireland or Nolan. Cowher placed himself in a box by saying I want one of these three jobs if the become available. Two of those jobs are not available and the Phins one doesn't want to give him full control. Now he will look like he settled if he takes something else this year.
And went to a team with a winning mentality and beat us for a TD last Sunday in a meaningless game for the Pats.
It's not any harder to please the Dolphin fans than it is any of the other fans in the NFL. Cleveland just fired their coach after two seasons. Denver did the same thing. As did the 49ers. All football fans expect is a competitive team that improves year to year. The fact is that Sparano did not get his teams to improve on a yearly basis. There is NO WHERE in the NFL where the fan base of any team would be happy if their team played like the Dolphins did this past season. Especially when they went 1-7 at home. If Cowher wouldn't come here because he was afraid of the comments from the fans. Well he needs to just stay in the TV booth. Because there is not a fan base in the entire league who doesn't demand their team play to a much higher level than the Dolphins did this past season.
Cowher wants two things: Money and full control over personnel. He could give two ****s about the fanbase.
Much more in depth than I felt the need to explain but you are right on the money. The statement posted was utterly ridiculous to such a degree I'm still chuckling over it.
