The throw their talking about, to the backs, are touch throws, it's not a strength of Ryan but I'm sure he can execute this necessary component of this scheme.

Dude I totally agree with you. We need to get these guys catching and moving. Moreno and Miller are both capable in space, give it them and let them go. It should open up space for Tannehill too as they should be less inclined to pressure.

chad Henne lead the league in screen passes/check down RB passes.

This is so devoid of context that I wonder if you know what football is.

i don't believe that for one, and I don't know what your point is..but I digress.

This is probably why Moreno was brought in, he has a sense and talent for knowing when to leave his block, get into the right lane and make himself available..he's got to be in great shape to have the quickness to finish the play though..

Looking at his body, if he works hard he should be shredded and ready to go.

It's that check down play it safe mentality that ruined any chance of him being a solid NFL starter.

Not sure if it was Sparano, Henning, Lee, Pennington that installed that passive mentality into him...but it cost him IMO because at Michigan he was very successful being a fearless gunslinger.

I agree. Otoh check downs are such a simple fix that I wonder if the staff purposely kept the backs in, to force RT to stay with his progressions, perhaps. It hurts in the short term but maybe they were willing to take the hit in order to speed RTs development along.

Man..it's the one out I've talked about when it comes to all this discussion and anger I have about the lack of a moving pocket, no read option, constricted to The pocket, and that is, did these guys do this to make him a better Qb long term..

I don't see how they think they had that type of security and could just afford to lose games with half of a qbs skillset left on the cutting room floor.

I'm not sure Henne would have been good either way but maybe it hurt him some.

They kept the backs in for pass protection. They had to, the line sucked so bad.

Youre right. But there are many ways to hide bad pass pro, running the ball more than 35% of the time maybe? Sherm chose to go with leaving the backs in, arguably the weakest aspect of their games. And he was fairly predictable about it.

Why wouldn't he? He can make any throw on the field.

His mentality as a pro has ruined him.
