Dare I? NY Knicks back in the playoffs thread

Why not? Heat-Knicks in the 1st Round since people put so much hype into it...

Beyond the natural rivalry, NY is a better matchup for us than Philly.

 

It's not false confidence when you are going into a knife fight with a armored tank division.

 

and I agree with Muck. I wanted Philly, because I felt they would take a game from the Heat and push them in others.

Hopefully the Knicks play them really hard and take a game or two.

You remember how you got those two wins? Season series and the regular season means NOTHING for the postseason.

it is why the Lakers IMO are still the toughest matchup for the Heat...but the Heat win the season series 2-0 and everybody starts talking about how the Heat matchup good versus the Lakers.

My fear is that it will be too much of a cakewalk. To be perfectly honest.

Hell, Mark Sanchez has a better chance of winning the Super Bowl than the Knicks as currently constituted have of beating the Heat as currently constituted.

At this point Bibby couldnt guard Billups if Billups was in a wheelchair with both hands wrapped behind his back. Guy is slower then a tree stump.

Actually...Billups is slower than Bibby at this point. Mike Bibby has played real well since coming over to the Heat. Is there a better three point shooter at point guard in the league?

Anyway...Chalmers would take Billups for the majority of the minutes anyway, While Wade would take him down the stretch.

Are you kidding? Chauncey Billups looks Like Wanda from Living Color. He makes Bibby look like Brad Pitt.

 

Bibby likes a mutant off a spaceship. If he was green id think he was a martian. Billups just has an egg head.

Yes Bibby can stand behind the arc and hit 3's which is good because other then that he does nothing else well. Miami is one of the few spots he has usefulness where he can stand there and shoot all day. Billups is not a guy who does a lot of help D and Id bet Bibby's contributions are negligible. Chalmers is quicker and might give Billups more problems but Billups is a pretty serious matchup problem in his own right.

The knicks bigger problem is playing 3 or 4 on 5 offensively when Toney Douglas and/or Williams and Fields are off. Jefferies, Turiaf, Shelden Williams bring nothing to the table offensively. Starting to think that going the Marc Gasol and bringing back Will Chandler as FA's might not be a bad route to go and round out the starting 5. Fields, Douglas and a big (Murphy? Dalembert? off the bench). Long term Walsh needs to look at his options once the new CBA shakes out.

Speaking of Walsh, the team is finally looking at picking his option and extending his deal. I wonder how much his health plays in to this. Rumors of him going back to Indiana seem to have little merit as he has a ton of respect for Bird. Also of note Jerry Sloan has said he would coach in the right situation. Where do I sign for that?

 

All I know is this...Since Bibby showed up...the Heat went from 4th in offensive efficiency to 2nd. He does things other than shoot too.

He is really good at setting screens and his assist/turnover ratio is damn good. Plus..he is clutch.

He is also much better than Chalmers in transition. Chalmers is basically a defensive specialist now, with some decent shooting.

 

and...Amare avoids THE WARDEN (Joel Anthony is losing his mind lately). Kevin Garnett actually said that THE WARDEN beat their front line by himself.
