    The stats in this thread that suggest that Bosh will be a ALL-NBA defensive player this year.

    Don't even bother. This has devolved into people saying "x,y,z sucks", then when confronted with facts they say, "doesnt matter, x,y,z sucks"

    The Knicks have no chance of winning a playoff series. Maybe next year. But not this time around. No way they beat Boston, Miami, Chicago, or Orlando in best of 7. Not happening. Taking a series to 6 would be a great stepping stone for next season.

    I disagree on Chicago, I think the Knicks can beat them. Theyve done so twice, one being a blowout and the other being a game the Knicks won by a couple of baskets. I believe the Knicks can bring the Heat to 6 as they matchup reasonably well. Orlando and Boston have too much height and in bostons case defense.

    People who think Chicago will handle the Knicks are just talking out of their asses.

    They ignore the fact NY is 2-0 againat then pre-Melo/Billups. And their not the Heat with an abundance of talent that really could start dominating come playoff time. Orlando would be a tough matchup but certainly no guarentee to beat NY either.

    After Boston and Miami their is no team that isnt in danger of being ousted in RD 1.

    The Bulls is a pretty darn good team. They can now compete against the Celtics. I don't know about the Knicks. Offensive-prowness with lack of defense and no center...

    Let Noah control the defensive end by himself. LOL

    The Bulls can't win on the road.

    Only one team without flaws (Boston) and even then...they might all die of natural causes during the playoffs.

    Go west if you want complete teams. I see two..Dallas and San Antonio. The rest have different issues.

    Boston= Old and decrepit
    Miami= Complacency, Lazy, Dumb, and blow leads for fun.
    Bulls= Suck on the road
    Orlando= Live and die by the 3.
    Atlanta= play small vs. everybody.
    Lakers= slow footed, play terrible defense for stretches.
    OKC= too young, choking problem, injured.

    San Antonio and Dallas, as long as they are healthy are the total package.

    and none of this has anything to do with who can win the ship or not. The playoffs are a different animal.

    I generally agree with all of this, my concern if I were a San Antonio or Dallas fan would be can they play the same in the playoffs, which is a different game.

    I would also add NY to the list, but I don't think they play defense often enough to do more than have a few big games.

    I'm sorry, but the Miami Heat are a joke. How they find ways to lose with that lineup is a complete embarrassment to the league. They literally have an all-star lineup but they still lose. LeBron James' career is going down the drain. Huge dissappointment, IMHO.

    What he is saying is that since they don't lose too often, he has to take every opportunity to let everybody know that he hates them when they do.

    we are dealing with a Jet fan here, remember? Jealous and envious.

    You Knicks fans have to be pretty nervous about tonight's game having lost 10 straight to this powerhouse Cleveland team.

    I'm guessing Alonzo Gee puts up about 30 pts with Samuardo Samuels dropping a cool 25. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the Cavs added Luke Mother-Trucking Harangody at the deadline. I'd put up a prediction of how many rebounds he'll get tonight but instead I'll just say this - all of em. He'll get all the rebounds.

    In all seriousness would you guys quit losing to us? We're trying to wrap up a #1 pick here and you keep trying to screw it up. We put up with your flirting with LeBron for 7 years and thought that FINALLY you would leave us alone. But no. You keep having to lose to us just to screw it all up.

    I say final score: NYK 117-CLE 86

    Eh I see it similar but a little different. I see the Lakers as the one team who can turn it on come playoff time. They havent really been fully healthy but for a handful of games with Bynum missing a large chunk and Artest's offense going missing for stretches. Come playoff time the twin towers and Kobe can take over...and there in lies the problem for San Antonio and Dallas. San Antonio will have to have Duncan playing 40-42 minutes a night and battling Gasol and Bynum...thats a tall order for any player even one as great as Duncan. They really needed another big imo if they wanted to come out of the west. Dallas struggles for consistent scorers besides Dirk and Terry. No one else is really consistent game in and game out. They you talk about that team matching up with the Spurs or Lakers which they will have to do at some point and I just dont see it for them. Both the Spurs and Mavs are deep but quality is what wins in the playoffs, not just good depth.

    As we all know, there's no D in Antoni. Hes trying to switch things up the last few games defensively but he just isnt and Im not sure will ever be a good defensive coach. There's already been talk of replacing him once the team is settled.

    That actually made me LOL. So true. If you guys win tonight that will be 12 wins with 1/4th coming vs NYK :(

    D'Antoni is FAIL. Does not teach defense, will not fire his brother as head defensive coach. Counting down the days til he is gone. I thought Isiah was a terrible coach but he didnt have the players...Im pretty sure Isiah could do a better job with this team. D'Antoni has the players and still sucks at coaching D.

    Its not just two players, you can tell its not worked on. The rotations are slow and the players act like it is not important. They contest shots but they give up 16 offensive rebounds to the Crapaliers. They shoot 55% to the Cavs 50 but force on 12 TO's and allow 12/21 from 3. You arent going to win games like that i dont care who the coach is and who the players are but it falls on the coach when the players are not rotating, playing help defense, and clearing the defensive glass. You win games in part by eliminating 2nd chances and you can tell there is no emphasis on that.

    In the Cavs last 8 games theyre 4-4 with 2 wins over the Knicks. Theyve scored 115 or more 3x over those 8 games. 2 are vs New York. Once is a bad game, twice starts a trend. And its not a good trend to start.

    I disagree. there are teams made for the playoffs and teams made for the regular season. I think their depth is phenomenal but come playoff time most teams go to an 8 man rotation anyway. I question whether their top 8 is better then Dallas' or LAL or OKC.

    Oh and as messed up as this is, the Knicks whooped them in MSG earlier this year putting up 120+. Amazing but true

    It would help if we had a Tom Thibodeau type of assistant to mainly focus on defense similar to what he did in Boston. I think we're going to be much better in the playoffs, though.

    How so? Defense is infinitely more important in the playoffs than it is in the regular season, and the Knicks play none of it.

    I agree but the Thibodeau types are few and far between. We had a great defensive team when he was the assistant under JVG. Every rotation was on target and you saw how well his teams rotate under Doc in Boston as well. My guy tells me Mike D is gonna sink or swim with his brother which means I give him another year or so before he gets the axe.

    Considering it doesn't actually work like that in the NBA, yes, it does matter. Don't believe me, look up the last time a team that didn't play defense won a championship. Trying to win games 130-128 doesn't fly in the playoffs.

    No need to look past the NBA all time wins leader Don Nelson. D'Antoni is nothing more than a poor mans Nelson, and Nelson had terrific offenses in Milwaukee, Golden State, and Dallas. Yet Don Nelson has no championship rings because they consistently finished near the bottom on defense every year.

    Holy shnit, is their a more unclutch team in basketball?? Lebron is still the same p-ssy he has always been.

    They still will play well in the show but that makes 5-13 in games decided by 5 or less.

    You'd think that joke of head coach would realize LeBron isn't a closer, nor has he ever been. But he doesn't. Calls an isolation for LeBron so he can throw up a layup that doesn't even hit rim.

    Its not just defense, its rebounding. D'Antoni's teams are typically smaller because he likes the perimeter game with an iso on his bigs down low. It leads to not only poor offensive rebounding but bad defensive rebounding as well
