Kind of a shame, the same happened to Ricky Sapp in 2010, knee injury at Clemson that was not properly handled caused a plunge. Wasn't he talked about as the #1 overall pick for a time?
Aldon Smith has health questions as well, as you know. Gotta wonder about that leg injury he had. Doesn't help that he played on it but love the toughness as well as his ability to still make plays despite the injury. He's got a lot of talent and he's better than Jason Pierre-Paul was coming out IMO.
There is a solid dual tiered pool of passrushing DE/OLB types in this draft, some who will go early, and some like Bowers, UNC's Carter, and a couple of other players who should slide into rd #2 or even early #3. Have read we visited with Brooks Reid from AZ.
I'd put him in that second tier of prospects Alen, the Bowers and Carter class of guys who really should be good players in the NFL but they have more questions than say Smith or Kerrigan or whomever, deep draft at that position wouldn't mind a trade back into rd #2 but for IL's Wilson not an OLB.
