#Dolphins actually put Carpenter on IR with a groin injury. Had some crucial misses in losses to #Jets and #Cardinals but hit 15 of last 16

Nate Kaeding is the definition of choker.

Interestingly enough, they also worked out Stephen McGeen and Josh Portis

    Preparing for MMoore's departure?

Anyone know why McGee didn't get a job this year? He plays yearly against the Dolphins in the preseason (Dallas) and I didn't think he looked bad at all. Also decent stats during regular season play.

Sucks... Carpenter had just made his way back in my mind. I'll never forget the non tackle by Kaeding back in the preseason a couple of years ago vs the 49ers... can't find the video clip on youtube anymore :pity: And the Chargers fans won't ever forget the missed field goals.

Wonder if they had Tannehill catching passes for him?

To add to our woes, Hartline is a DNP today with a bad back.

I'm beginning to wonder if we are more or less orientating for 2013 now?

I would cringe if this happened...

"Nate Kaeding, lining up to kick a FG that can miraculously catapult the Dolphins to the playoffs after an unlikely sequence of events. Redemption for his failures in SD during clutch situations or another disappointment for this team? Dolphins down 23-21 to the Patriots, 3 seconds on the clock... And the 47 yard kick is up.....

Makes me wonder what the heck these guys are doing in practice. Thats a lot of injuries in the last 2 weeks that are conditioning geared.

Wow what a week. We've been pretty healthy all season and then the bug bit us HARD. Bess, Clay, Thomas and now Carpenter. Hartline hasn't been healthy either. Jeez.

I vaguely remember something like this, but it didn't happen. Just looked it up. He was here the last 2 weeks a year ago.

I do think there was 2 games he missed at one point during the season though.

Field goal kickers with potbellys are hilarious, He needs to train for a better physique, maybe these injuries would have less a chance of popping up.

As for QB, see if Alex Smith will come as a backup. The answer will be no, but you still check.

Any reason why he was cut? He was 7 of 7 in 3 games this year.

    Injury problem I believe.

It's funny because I read that Kaeding is the most accurate kicker in NFL history, but he struggles mightily in big spots.

Unfortunately the Jets have benefited from that the most. 2004 I believe and a few years ago (08 or 09).

It would be interesting to find out, if there is a way, his FG pct when tied or behind by 3 points or less in the 4th quarter of games, and also his FG pct in OT.
