Maybe the rule was created with good intentions and all, but I'm not in favor of anything where "minorities" are given special treatment because of a perception. Take 2012, for example, when there were 8 head coaching jobs open and no minorities were hired. NFL executive Robert Gulliver said- Just a hair under 20% of our league's head coaches are "minorities" (6 of 32....5 black and 1 Hispanic), and having a league call any hiring a "disappointment" because of race is ultimately racism. It works both ways....which is why I just don't like these types of laws.
Well, you are twisting his words a bit, he didn't say that any hires were a disappointment, he said that the lack of diversity is a disappointment, but he's working in human resources so this is his bag, and his opinion, not the league's necessarily. When the Rooney rule was put in, only 6% of HCs were minority, now it's 20%, that's nearly a 75% increase.
