BeBe Thomas has broken his foot before the combine, needless to say his draft stock will fall.

Draft Darwinism is alive and well.

Ouch! For a guy who already has speed issues, this is not good. IMO, he was a second/third round prospect before this.

Lafell looks better without even stepping foot into the combine.

Yep, and it's mid Feb, his foot may not be healed sufficiently enough by September to allow him to play.

Possibly. The healing process is anywhere between six to ten weeks I believe? That's three to five months. At the earliest, he'd be back is the start of June, maybe? And the latest I imagine is at any later time, though I would guess around September.

Ronnie B was down for what 6 months?

And even 3 to 5, he misses mini camp and OTA's, so he may have hurt his draft stock and a team who drafts him has to keep in mind that he will be way behind the curve unless he is just Crabtree like.

Crabtree had a stress fracture. Stress fractures are anywhere between four to sixteen weeks, depending on the severity of the injury from what I understand.

Re: Ronnie Brown - Is he back? I didn't know he was running already?

Funny Alen, I'd forgotten his foot injury, I meant miss mini camp, OTA's and Training Camp and not play until November and still contribute at a high level for the 49ers.

Not running as of yet, but he can walk without a boot or crutches.

Gotcha. Well a lot of his missed time was because of the holdout. If I remember correctly, he was out there lightly jogging with the team in training camp and then got yelled at by Singletary for being out there when he shouldn't have been.

But I agree regards production. I don't think Thomas will duplicate Crabtree's numbers.

    Gotcha.

I could be going out on a limb here but almost have to wonder if him not running the 40 is beneficial to his draft stock. I think this is awful and it will definitely affect him but can you imagine if he ran a 4.6?

    EDIT: Just read this:

Holy crap. If he clocks in anywhere around a 4.38 or even a 4.48, that's one helluva prospect.

Btw. GOD I could be way off at the top. I never have a problem admitting I'm wrong but that dude does not look that fast in games. I'd be very surprised if he clocks in anything earlier than a 4.5.

There are several highlights reels of DT on Youtube and there is one consistent thing...he creates seperation...or outmuscles the defender for the ball.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMK59U6nCuw"]YouTube- Demaryius "Bay-Bay" Thomas Highlights[/ame]

Imho he is more explosive than most gave him credit for being imho the reason for that thought is "he played in a run heavy offense were the secondary overcomitted to stuffing the run".

Not so, watch at the last second, he is covered but as the ball nears he manages to create that extra foot of space to make the catch.

Pity about his broken foot, as if we did not acquire Bolden, DT was the cat I wanted in the 3rd/4th rd.

I am a fan of the guy and I would be very happy if we got him in the 3rd round... I would pee my pants if we got him in the 4th.

Ryan Mallet has broken his foot as well.

That is #2 on the Draft Darwinism list, Mallet was this year's...Steve McGee.

If he clocked at 4.38, then forget Dez Bryant. Demarious Thomas is the top receiver in this draft. All he needed was to run a good time to go along with his 25 yards per reception production. He's bigger and more physical than Dez Bryant, plus he doesn't have Dez's primma donna attitude.
