Crowder out vs. Bills, probably vs. Vikes, too (...Miami Herald) http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolp...der-has-been-downgraded-from-questionabl.html ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` My opinion? It is long passed time to replace this semi injured and annually sidelined player and use his big dollars to rebuild our positions of need. John Offerdahl he ain't - and he isn't worth waiting for anymore with the addition of this years LB talent. There must be someone in the CFL, or the arena league that we could bring in to give some more depth to Dobbins so we can cut Crowder. With Crowder out and with newbees to our system playing their first game doubtless Buffalo will try to run them over or at least test them, and if they succeed, (and I said "IF") this loss won't fall on Crowder shoulders - it will fall on Sporano's. This annually injured player shouldn't be absorbing this much of our money and producing nothing. Why the focus of the "injury-axing" was on Jake Grove and not Channing Crowder I am sure I will never know. Oh yeah, silly me, Crowder didn't play on the offensive line so Sporano isn't obsessed with fixing this. Just like Jake Long getting hurt when he should have been playing in the first place, this Crowder issue is a coaching error. Love it or hate it - it's a ballsy statement and it's one that I had to make.
Getting new LB's was a great move, not cutting this goof after his annual injury in stupid. Now that we have the extra talent we should save the payroll. If CC played on the O-line, you can bet this wouldn't be allowed to happen.
I agree. CC should have been cut a while ago and now that he is injured it's a no brainer. Dansby and Dobbins are damn good. Save the money and stop the uncertainty of the ever-injured.
You sure have balls, but you are right. When healthy CC is a great player, but he is not worth the wait or the frustration when we have more talent there. After his most recent injury spurt they should have bounced him. ...and I too are getting sick of the TS fixation on the OL. People would die for our OL talent and that's all he seems to see. Meanwhile CC went unaddressed. Lets beat Buffalo and worry about it then.
What I love about the TUNA boys most is how famous they are for non-disclosing things and this is one of them. All they have said was an abdominal injury. (I think it's a groin pull- ouch!)
There is no reason to wait until after the Barfalo game. If he isnt cut today his salary is guaranteed for the year. He isnt getting cut after today until after the season. IMHO
Like it. Crowder was signed to a 3 yr deal at age 25, which tells me the FO is just biding their time until they have a chance to get rid of him. I don't think we've reached that point though, talent wise nor chemistry wise. CC is one of the most popular guys in the locker room. Dansby had to to be "eased" into the alpha role on defense, primarily out of respect for Crowder IMO. The injuries are frustrating, the overrunning plays and shooting wrong gaps is too. But his contract is up next year, and the FO has never been enamored with him, I think their ahead of the curve on this one.
I want to keep channing, he's not a top 5 linebacker in the league but he's a quality starter and would benefit having a dansby next to him this season He's better than dobbins and that's all that matters, his salary is not that high because the team lowballed him but he took it to stay in Miami, which is another surprising part how he is so dedicated to this team but the fanbase likes to rip him because he says what's on his mind and likes to joke around Fact is he is a good inside linebacker, a team favorite in the locker room and still only 25, and until he is the worst linebacker on our team there is no reason to cut him Sent from Evo 4G
i watched the latest phinsider on the miamidolphins site and someone mentioned groin injury as the listed injury but i'm not sure if thats correct. matt roth says groin injury=headed to clevelend!
