http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-dolphins-notebook-0831-20100830,0,3984914.story Channing has been out for 12 days.
I read some were it was a hip flexor which i have no clue about but they thought it may be in the abs range sounds like a HERNIA Sure doesnt sound leg related but who knows http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/08/31/1799867/miami-dolphins-linebacker-crowders.html
I told you guys since draft day that Dobbins would start in place of Crowder! (just had no idea it would be because of injury)
If Crowder is healthy, he will start over Dobbins. He's better in coverage than Dobbins. I happy to have Dobbins on the team, but I'd be worried if he had to start all 16 games.
Better but not by much. He will make more game changing plays in 2 downs (with Bell/Anderson working 3rd downs) then Crowder will by playing all 3. Crowder better get back soon cause if Dobbins gets 2-3 starts and plays very well Crowder may not get it back.
crowder gets too much love from some Dolphin fans the guy stinks in coverage and now he is hurt again I'm willing to bet that Dobbins could get in there and make a few plays Channing would be easily forgotten status quo sucks. I'm ready for something new
People kind of blew it off but Padre was right on the radio show last night the fact that Crowder is going for a second opinion looks really bad for him it is obviously something they couldn't quite figure out and will eventually involve surgery or all kinds of rest. I think anyone who has hopes of seeing Crowder on the field anytime soon are going to be disappointed. He might be toast folks.
If the man took his professionally athlete offseason training routine seriously he might not be in this position...his lower body strength is one of his weakest area's, always been...
Like I said, if, and it looks to be a big if at this point, Crowder is healthy, he'll start. Dobbins is pretty superior than having Reggie Torbor as a backup as was the case last year. Crowder is still better than Dobbins in coverage, and playing next to Karlos Dansby will only help whomever is next to him as Dansby's role would expand. Having had Edds available would help Crowder as Crowder would only be a 2-down guy (he might still be). But given, what we've seen, Crowder is still a better player IMO, but he's certainly injury prone. As for a 2nd opinion, that goes either way. Perhaps the first doctor told him not to play with whatever Channing's injury is. If Channing feels better and like he could play, why not get a second opinion. All that being said, I'm happy that we have Dobbins as opposed to Reggie Torbor if Crowder can't go.
Crowder's had chronically bad knees since high school, I think it's got 0% to do with his offseason training.
It does. clean out surgery and 6 -8 weeks of rehab got arod functional for baseball. Would sideline crowder for the yr imo so im hoping not
I wouldn't say toast, but I will say this is a bad situation for Channing Crowder. As for the replacements: Spitler and Folsom are nowhere to be seen, so: Dansby/Dobbins Johnson as the 1 A backup? Charlie Anderson as the jack of all trades LB? Doesn't sound terrible, but Anderson doesn't have the build of a ILB though I'd bet he can play nickel ILB, but Micah Johnson is a stone rook who was waived by the Giants earlier this preseason..big gamble to make him the back up/run stuffing ILB.
I agree. So true. You and I must be watching different games. Crowder is terrable in coverage. All he ever did was save his body like he talked about during this training camp. Watch him on every play and you will see 95% of the time he is chasing the players from behind. (Well behind) No where near the ball.
Ive heard him say in certain crowder way's several times over the years, that he's not a big offseason training guy...This year he was at the facility all the time because of his injury....
That doesn't mean his legs and overall musculature can't get better from his high school days, if you can play big time college football and Pro football, your legs have the ability to get better.
*Note I've tried to buzz the birdie about crowder and there is a total lockdown on this one coming straight from the Tuna himself. Personally i thnk if it were a hernia, there would be no reason why he hasnt had the surgery. It only takes a few weeks to come back for that. If he has a Labrum tear in his Hip(like a-rod; sydney rice) he will be gone for 8 - 9 weeks. The latter sounds like the problem as most people wouldnt be going for 2nd and 3rd opinions on a hernia issue.
I was at the ortho's office when this went down...... overheard it all. Crowder was like "Doc, I want a second opinion". So doc says "you look like a Predator with down syndrome too."
