It's my lady friend's 21st birthday next month and im doing bunch of stuff for her and one of the gifts (well, the only "physical" gift) is a lens for her DSLR. Now...Im usually pretty good with this stuff. For her 18th birthday I blind folded her and took her skydiving. She had no idea what was going to happen untill the literally last moment where we walked in to preparation. Next year I buried a "treasure" in her backyard and gave her a "treasure map" and a shovel. Done similar creative things for my friends as well...But for some reason I'm just drawing a blank at this one. I mean, what the **** can I do with a lens? Any creative suggestions are welcome. ...and yes, I've done the box within a box within a box within a box thing.
I say just give it to her in a nicely wrapped box and stop screwing yourself. Eventually you aren't going to be able to outdo the previous year (much like you're struggling this year).
I'm not following here. You suggesting to take the camera and put the lense on it to see if she will notice? lol Ofcourse she will, the lense is about 3 times bigger than her standart one. This is true. However I am not quite ready to give up yet. so I'm still trying to come up with something. Yes, special lady friend. Game Show....? As if, create a game of Jeopardy for her? lol
Yeah don't think I can't see where your mind is going with this. Also I'm imagining pushing her out of a plane blind folded screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY PULL THE CHUTE!"
Nothing fancy. Sigma APO 70-300mm I did some reading around and decided that sine she does alot of picture taking for her friends and Dolphins games, it will be a good fit. It's great of Macro picture taking and gives her a better zoom at football games. That's my Halloween present.
She lets you bury "treasure" in her "backyard"? Hope you're getting her a wedding ring for her birthday...
