If they hired Gruden, the first thing we'd see inside the Dolphins would be Henne doing backflips. Gruden likes strong armed Qb's but ones that can use their feet more to create some space. I still think he'd be good for Henne, and the offense. But still would pray that he brought in a more experienced Veteran QB to compete ..

I'm not sure why he'd want to come in and just change the defense that is ranked what 4th or 5th in the league and is still very very young. With a pretty damned good coordinator as well.

If I'm Chucky, I'm walking in the Ross' office and telling him to give Nolan a nice raise. Then walk out, call Jeff Ireland, and start working on getting set up in rebuilding the offensive line, Rb, Wr, and shore up the Qb position by cutting/trading thiggy and getting better competition there...

Just think about it. He comes in with only half a headache to worrry about. Well, one third because special teams need some serious evaluating

You got me on everything except the Thigpen part. I'd kinda like to see what Gruden could do with the mobile Thigpen in his offense. I have visions of Rich Gannon going thru my head....

Valid points. In fact I`m a little more negative about Gruden now that I`ve read this.

Gruden will probably the best for Henne, although I'd like to limit him to 1-2 veterans rather than 15

If we do go with Gruden, I can easily see McNabb coming here to be the fit at qb under his WCO system. Which now makes me not want Gruden... :pity:

Rich Gannon had a career completion % of 60. He killed teams with intermediate passes in Gruden's offense. I don't know if Thiggy is accurate enough to succeed in that scheme.

If I could pick any coach who is available. I would pick Jim Harbaugh. He has done an outstanding job at Stanford and if he can take that coaching to the pros. I think he could be a heck of a coach for the Dolphins. As a former player in the NFL. He would have instant credibility with the players on the Dolphins. I love what his brother has done with the Ravens and I believe Jim Harbaugh could do the same thing in Miami. If my only choices though are Gruden, Cowher, and Sparano. I would hope the Dolphins would go after Gruden. Cowher has been out of the coaching game for four years. The last coach we took that had been in the TV booth for a few years was Jimmy Johnson. That didn't turn out too well. While Gruden has also been in the TV booth for the last two seasons. He has always made it known that his goal was to return to coaching. Cowher since leaving Pittsburg has been much like Johnson was before returning to the Dolphins. He has always stated that he likes working in TV and he hasn't shown the same strong desire to return to coaching which Gruden has. As far as keeping Sparano. I like the guy and I would have love to see the team be a success with him as the head coach. It hasn't been. So it is time for the owner to give Sparano his walking papers. Hopefully our next coach will be Harbaugh, but I'll settle for Gruden if that's the only option.

I think Bill Cowher has a much better chance to be the first NFL coach to win a Super Bowl with a new team, something that's never happened before.

I kind of want to stick with Sparano though for 2011. It would be hard to pass up Cowher though.

Harbough and Cowher have the makeup and personality traits to battle the tremendous negative variables that surround this city, and the stadium.

I'd prefer Gruden. I love his work ethic.

As has been stated, any other place, including Miami, Cowher gets fired.
