I still don't think it happens, Dallas would be foolish to trade away 2 1st rounders and a 2nd to move up to draft McFadden. They already have Barber who is a very good and very capable RB.

yea but they like the 2 back system Barber doesnt have that Break away speed like McFadden or J. Jones have he is more of a 3rd and Short and a goal line back were McFadden would be an all around back for them

Mort mentioned that to get the deal done, Dallas would have to include both first round picks and Marion Barber.

He also mentioned Miami being high on Matt Ryan, but I think that is a smoke screen to stir up interest in the pick. Drafting Matt Ryan with the 1st pick is one of the worst things Miami can do with that pick. He's not a top 15 guy in this draft, much less a candidate for the #1 overall pick.

and are you doing that gain?

i dont think we would get Barber in that trade i think that would be asking for to much
and i hope it is a smoke screen for matt Ryan i like other people in the Draft before him if he fell to 22(if we trade with dallas) and we got him there then i would care but not at #1

yea i have to agree i dont see that happening i see us getting Draft picks if anything from them not Barber plus Ronnie has the skills to be the best in the league and he showed that this year

I would be ok with trading that low IF we were able to take their first/second round pick NEXT year as well. We are rebuilding and need to load up on picks. One way to do that is to think beyond this year.

Marion Barber is a great back, but splitting time in Miami with Ronnie doesn't seem like a fix for anything on our side. Considering we have some talented reserves in Chatman, Gado and (ugh) Ricky Williams (although I really prefer he go away), I don't think trading for another back (even as talented as Barber) will help us as much as a bunch of early draft picks over the next few years would.

Marion Barber was more than capable of carrying the load as well, but Dallas still split time with Marion Barber and Julius Jones.

Getting Barber would certainly tie up a lot of money in the tailback position, and Miami would have two of the league's ten best tailbacks on the roster.

I don't like the idea of splitting carries between running backs. It is a little easier to stomach when they are of similar caliber, but still, I think limited the carries for both players hurts them both in the long run.

Exactly. If they want McFadden, they don't have to trade all the way up to #1 to get him.

I would suspect Ireland would have an idea, just how bad the Cowboys want Mcfadden...I'd suspect he has a good idea of everything the Cowboys want in the upcoming draft. Perhaps they are thinking more along the lines of resigning Jones and going after Mcfadden? or maybe optioning jones and the 2 first rounders. either way, i just cant fathom this deal getting done with us.

Agree. Why lose 2 very good picks for a player that has dropped in alot of ppls opinion last several weeks. Question is now. Is he worth it? IMO no which sadly for us means we wont get 2 1st round picks.

The other part of that report that everyone is still in denial over is that Ireland and Parcells dont like Beck which is something Ive been telling you guys for over a month now. At some point the smokescreen lifts and there's a naked emperor walking down the street (for the literary minded). If they dont like Beck, they have to draft a QB. Green and Lemon are not the answer. So if this trade down doesnt happen Matt Ryan will be our QB. If the trade down does happen, Henne, Brohm or Flacco will be our drafted QB. Just accept the fact already that Parcells doesnt like Beck and will not give him a fair chance to compete for the starting job.

Let's just put it this way. If Bill Parcells overrules everyone in the building and drafts Matt Ryan with the #1 overall pick, then Miami made a tremendously bad decision with bringing Parcells in to run the football operations. Matt Ryan isn't now nor will he be worth the #1 overall pick in the draft. He also isn't a better quarterback prospect than John Beck.

I like the way you said "fair". Which says to me you think Beck needs to be given a chance? I do. Give him a pre-season at least.
